Lie and deciet millions of poor hopeless, poverty dazed people through promises of bright futures and glory. Blame their problems on other people. They rally for you and you gather power and support from them. Then through that power you wage war against the world and commit inhuman and ungodly acts of cruelty against other humans just because they are there to be blamed. After having done all that you leave a legacy that is still followed by lost, ignorant youth, that dares to go outside there shell and see the world that is really there. Yeah i know i might be off subject but i find Hitler's way a powerful tactic.
The brother of Hannibal, I forget his name, it started with an H I think...anyway, he fought his last battle with this other brilliant Roman general (during the Pelopponesian Wars, between Carthage and Rome). See if you can look it up on ancienthistory.about.com, supposedly it was the perfect battle. The guy knew he was losing at the end, and so I think he got on a horse and charged the enemy ranks. Quite a noble way to go.
If you are strong, feign weakness If you are weak, feign strength That's the best tactic in my opinion
The Battle of Kursk was the largest tank battle in history where the russians were able to ultimately (at a very high prize) defeat the stronger german tanks by using very deep defense lines and dynamically laying mines and concentrate artillery fire if german tanks broke through one or two defense lines. Well documented
The best battle tactic? Well if it wasnt actuall combat, Id say read all you can about Otto Von Bismarck.... He was a god.
