getting past the administrator

    My brother-in-law gave me an old Thinkpad I-series. It has a 5gb hardrive, 32 Ram and 500mhz. It was on a network and we cannot get past the administrator. We are blocked from adding and deleting programs etc. I would just as soon replace the Windows 2000 and NT with Me. All I want to do is run ACT or MS Outlook Contacts. Any ideas?
