Could anyone refer me to some good and preferably cheap computer stores on the web? Not like big name brand though.

they're a good site. great prices. if you don't like ordering online you can get them at a store. the compusa and best buy around the corner both have their computers ins tock, had them at the same price as online too.

If you're interested in buying the parts seperately. It has links to other stores and lists them by price, usually you can find a great deal.

My computer is officially built as of yesterday.

After I received all of the parts, but I didn't finish building until a week later because because some of the companies kept screwing up.

Use pricewatch.com to find the cheapest sellers for each part that you require.

I find their categorizations a little choppy, but they are irrefragably the only internet comapny that keeps tabs on the price variations of computer products like the stock market.

Don't order anything from the following two companies:
merkortech
infinity systems

They are scam artists.

Try www.accessmicro.com or tigerdirect.com. Tiger is a bit more expensive but I've never had any trouble with returning merchandise (which does not happen often)
