Every time I try to download any sort of file from the Internet, the progress box will pop up to download the file, but I then receive the following error--

"Internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later"

I have no problem surfing the web though---I just can't download anything thing.

I did not have this problem before. I am using Windows XP, IE 6.0.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

Use Download Acellerator Plus (DAP) or GetRight or GoZilla as your default downloading manager.

There is a possibility that the problem is with the ISP you are using. If the ISP has set a Proxy (since some do, to help them monitor which pages get loaded the most and which sites shouldn't be allowed on the net.)

Such a proxy usually covers the HTTP range, but it can cover the ports for HTTPS, FTP, Gopher, Socks.

You could also check your IE6 Options/Settings as your browsers ZONES might be restricted too highly.

    Mozilla

Try downloading Mozilla and using that. If you have the same problem its either your OS or your ISP.
