How to connect a desktop to a notebook thru network card ?

    I need to copy a 3GB zip file from my friend's notebook,
    my PC has a 3com ethernet card.

    How can i use it to connect/link to the notebook?

    Get your self a cross-linked ethernet cable. There are ready made available between 5 and 10 dollars.
