Story 1: This does not actual break the speed of light barrier. The known speed limit of the universe (at which time stops) is the speed of light IN VACUM. Light traveling through matter is much slower… in fact they have slowed light down in Ultra cool B.E. condensed atoms to a walking speed of 8Km a hour! Story 2: Entropy only applies to a open system. This means that energy is always lost, but if the system is close (true closer is impossible but can be sustained for a limited time) then entropy does not apply.
