View Full Version : A Science Controversy

Hello All!

I would like to bring to your attention a current physics controversy in basic physics: Electricity and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Theory…, but with far broader implications. It is based on scientific theories that are all published, and all fully tackled by expert physicists of high repute. The background story is described in my website, with the science found through the various links:

http://www.geocities.com/bibhasde/

A word of caution though: This website is highly, irreverently and humorously critical of the Physics Establishment. Some may find this offensive, and feel they have been lured into reading things they would not otherwise read. Please visit the website at your own discretion. If in doubt, please do not visit.

On the other hand, if your true interest is science rather than scientists, then you ought to visit.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Bibhas De

The classic whine:

As flies to wanton boys, are we to the gods; They kill us for their sport.

The gentleman, bibhasde, doth protest too much, methinks. Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Not wine... men intoxicate themselves; Not vice... men entice themselves.

Men shut their doors against a setting sun.

--Wm. Shakespeare. Gotta love him.

I agree with Mr.G. If the theory has merit, it should be presented in a clearly defined post, and not have us navigating an entire website in lieu of a proper presentation.

I agree with Mr.G.
Thereby are you hoisted on your own pitard.

I was speaking about such as you, too.

He's not that smart, John, or else he'd have spelled 'petard' properly. I'm not even going to ask why you can't spell 'brandish.'

No, actually, we're not even. You see, when I first read your post, I didn't know the word 'pitard.' So I immediately went to dictionary.com, and found the word 'petard,' which means 'an explosive device used to knock down a wall.' Well, I thought that that didn't sound right, so I assumed the english word 'petard' was actually derived from a french word 'pitard.' I didn't bother to look it up in french, but just assumed at that point that you knew more than me. :p

chroot, spend some of your ganjah money on a real dictionary.

There's letters seal'd: and my two schoolfellows,
Whom I will trust as I will adders fang'd,
They bear the mandate; they must sweep my way,
And marshal me to knavery. Let it work;
For 'tis the sport to have the engineer
Hoist with his own petard:
and 't shall go hard
But I will delve one yard below their mines,
And blow them at the moon:
O, 'tis most sweet,
When in one line two crafts directly meet.

Actually, that was one of the funniest things I've read all day, John. God, you're such an idiot. Does your english dictionary contain the word 'pitard?'

For chroot,

-- "Blandish--to flatter or coax in persuading; cajole" --Websters

The internet is a fine tool, chroot, but it has limitations and it certainly doesn't make good books obsolescent.

Adam

1) dictionary.com includes the same definition.
2) Webster's is not considered "a good book" in literary circles.
3) I normally use my OED.
4) The word 'blandish,' if you actually intended to use it, was entirely misused in your sentence. It doesn't make any sense. Therefore, I gave you the benefit of the doubt by assuming you just made a typo, and meant 'brandish.' If you'd rather me assume you're actually so stupid you use words in unintelligible contexts, though, that's your choice.

You obviously don't come from a literary circle, chroot, so we'll never have to endure you blandishing your intelligence.

Dear Lord, you've gotta be the stupidest person capable of using the Internet. Site mods: you've obviously made it too easy...

bibhasde,

Please don't cross post. It is not acceptable here.

If you have a post you think should be in this forum and not the other, then do us the kindness of at least making the message different.
