What's the end game of smart?

Is the idea of god equivalent to the ultimate potential of intelligence?

What are the properties of "the ultimate intelligence"? (I'm talking end of the line, 'infinite' intelligence.)

Are they even a valid questions?

We certainly cannot have 'infinite' intelligence.

Are you talking about the ultimate smart individual, or could it include a sort of hive-mind of networked minds?

It would, like us, need to be self-aware.

It would need to have unlimited memory. If it forgets things, then there are things it can't understand or problems it can't solve. That's a problem because there's not an infinite number of elementary particles in the universe for it to use as a memory system. On top of that, it would need a system to make the memories usable, which would be giant and sophisticated to be able to index through that amount of information.

How would the "brain" be structured--like that of a computer--or like that of a humans? I'd imagine it as being some kind of hybrid. There are some things that our brains do better than computers, and things computers do better than our brains.

I'm talking about intelligence in general. Not necessarily "human". I mean the concept of intelligence. Where does it max out?

    Infinite Intelligence = GOD

Christian Science . a fundamental attribute of god, or infinite Mind.

    I just got a boner.

That reply was off topic, yet no doubt insignificantly.

They are valid questions, but I suspect that level of intelligent discussion would not easily be accurately addressed by lower capacity discussion participants.

The properties would likely be similar to the encounter of two different intellect levels, such that the "higher aptitude" subject could mimic the less apt subject, to such an exact degree, that the less apt subject could not recognize they were in the company of someone more intelligent than themselves.

This should not be necessarily taken as a possible method of predation toward a possible lowly "victim", as that might unrealistically stereotype the motive of such higher intellects.

    You know...
I really don't know about that.

I think the internet makes people dumber. I could be wrong...

I'm sure a smart person like yourself has done plenty of reading on the subject. I know that I have. The topic is controversial, and as always, depends on the source.

Haven't you learned a great deal from the internet? I just learned that some guy had a boner...

Alternatively, you two could take your love to hate thing elsewhere, like PM's for example..

That would be the smart thing to do.

You should also know by now that I dislike it when people make baseless claims that have no observational evidence.
Jeez... I learn that several times a day in ways I try to forget ever happened at all.

    Noted!

Collective intelligence is not about one individual learning on the internet. It's about putting millions of ideas and perceptions together to solve complex problems.

    Ah, ok.

Yeah... I'm caught red-handed. I didn't read the links, really.

Ah, but who gets to decide which is the correct answer to the complex problem?

    Firstly, welcome back Wes!

Secondly, I think the idea of God can be restrictive to one's intelligence.

    Uhh... think tank?

That's a bit like asking who decides in the end on complex political problems etc...

People grouping together to come up with ideas is certainly nothing new.

Although the internet just makes it a bigger pot.

With lots of weird things floating around in it.

I would not classify the internet as a think tank. Would you?

Of which, there is rarely concensus between all sides.

No it is not. But they do not always come up with the best outcome.

Considering the sheer number of kooks on the internet...

    Exactly..

Ms O'Donnell being one of them.

Let me ask you a question Neverfly.. Do you consider the internet to be the 'end game of smart'? Or even a part of it? Who decides what is smart?
