Who beleives pets can have empathy for humans.???

My (now deceased) cousin who lived across the street had a very lovin an well behaved dog which loved to cuddle wit her on the couch... she had jus talked to me on the fone an had told the dog to go to its bed an stay while she was on the couch eatin a pizza she had ordered an told me to com on over for som pizza... so on my way over thar (about 10 minutes later) i herd ambulance sirens comin closer an closer.!!!

When i went inside i discovered that she had aparently got choked on the pizza an colapsed onto the floor... the fone on the coffey table was the old fashoned rotary type... an aparently the dog had gone over to the coffey table... knocked the phone off the hook an ate the rest of the pizza.!!!

The dog either didn't realize your cousin was in danger or didn't care. I don't know if most animals are empathetic, but they can be sympathetic.

I think they can tell when someone is dead. :bugeye:

Probably the same way we do, "It don't move no more" That's when my dogs stop playing with insects they've accidentally killed. That's when I stop playing with insects I have accidentally killed.
