This is my cat Pete, he likes water and swims in the bathtub, and as you can see he also likes to sit under the tap in the kitchen sink and let the water drip on him.

    Pete taken earlier today

Is this normal? does anyone else have any eccentric pets?

My Ex had such a cat as well. He even jumped into the bathtub with her when she was taking a bath. It also fetched bottle caps like a dog would do .

I have three dogs. Two female dobermans and a male wiener dog. If I even go stand by the door, shellen (oldest doberman) goes crazy and begins to run around the round coffee table next to the door. I call it the 'dog hadron collider'. Also, if I'm on the couch watching TV, she will get up there with me and lay next to me, and I grab her front arms and flip her over on her back, and we both watch TV. It's really funny to see her lay on her back. She thinks she's people.

I think your cat has a great sense of humour.

I have two lizards, but there's nothing eccentric about them. The iguana sometimes get a strange look in her eyes though, and has taken up whipping people on their legs with her tail, not me though, just people she dislikes. Otherwise she's a big fan of the shower and talking to her mirrorimage.

The leopardgecko sometimes escapes from her glasscage, have no idea how, it should be impossible, but once I tracked her location down by observing a cricket running across the floor that she must have halfeaten and then vomated up, or maybe it was an accomplice.

My moggy was utterly fucking crazy as a kitten. I thought she might have an excess of adrenaline, cos she was the most hyperactive creature alive (and had massively dilated pupils all the time). She constantly ran around destroying things. She is still kinda hyperactive but less so.

My mom comments 'Like owner, like pet...'

Even more pressing, how the hell small is that kitchen sink and what can you possibly do with something that petite?

That's a weird cat. Mine will shake hands like a dog, but I taught her that.

My dog Hollie is crossed with a Bull Arab which are massive pig hunting dogs!! When i take her for a walk, she finds THE BIGGEST log possible, often larger than her, and walks dragging it beside her...
i tried uploading a picture of her, but it keeps failing..

Do sphynx cats count as being inherently eccentric?

If so, then yes. My cat loves water and prefers to drink running water.

That's a really young kitten, I take it that that's not a resent picture of it?
Yep, my cat likes to drink running water as well.

    Yes my pet is eccentric.
A Tonkinese cat, he drinks wine, red or white, will drink beer if not offered wine ( I call him pissed in boots).
    He comes to the beach.
Has never taken a backwards step to a dog (even when he was 12 weeks old would jump into next doors' dog's pen, turn his back on the dog whilst eating its food)
Loves being spun at breakneck speed on the floor boards.
Prefers to drink water from a human's glass than his own bowl (bastard).
Has long conversations with the Spud Empress but only ever has one sided communications with me.
Grooms my head when I'm half asleep.
Only holds a grudge for about three years.
    Prefers watching tennis to football.

    shit like that.

And I want one of those sphynx cats just to call it the sphynxster.

Apparently they have miles of character.

my dog loves to party. she's very social (with adults), and she loves beer.

she's too old to jump up on the couch now, but when she was younger, if i was sitting there on the couch drinking a beer, she would jump up and practically sit on my lap and stare at me. if i ignored her, she would take her paw and wrap it around my arm and pull the beer towards her mouth. we'd sit there and wrestle back and forth for it.

she has her own special beer dish. i only give her a tiny taste. but when we have company, she'll often run and get her beer dish and present it to our guests. like, "hey, let's party". i had a halloween party a few years ago, and i think my dog had a better time than any guest. and the guests had a great time. but poohbear was just really in her element.

last night my husband and i were outside, painting an area of the house we had worked on, and she came out with us. then she saw that her favorite neighbor 2 doors down was grilling out, so she went to his place to hang out. but every 15 minutes or so, she would come back to check on us, and make sure we were still out there working, then she'd go back for another hot dog.

    she's awesome.

    poohbear, the party dog...chillin'.

My cat's eccentric, but even more importantly, he's just fucking cute.
