I have come to a glistening realization in recent days, based on facebook "debates", forum debates, and my observations of people in public places, such as classrooms, the gym, the food court at your local mall, etc...

The problem with politics in general is that everyone thinks their hand should be "involved", everyone thinks they know what they're talking about. They're on a team that has to win social harmony, prosperity and happiness and their personal "observation" on the matter is beneficial to that team.

It's exactly like sports, all the people who DON'T play act like they know how it should be run, "such and such should have run that play", "they should trade blah blah because he is a strong runner but their defense is lacking", "this team will be in the final four because of (insert partially accurate statistical BS that you learned from ESPN here)" it seems almost any one who enjoys sports thinks they’re a sports analyst and should be behind a desk wearing a suit and tie, talking about it. I hear it all the time when two people are talking to each other and don't have anything to say. That's what political debates meander around...illusory nonsense.

Everyone 'KNOWS', after watching Fox News and CNN, how the world's politics should be run. Because everyone has studied every inch of human history and human psychology, and can now make a general theory on what is wrong the world economy, why Afghanistan is this, why conservatism is that... in actuality you DON'T know, your opinion DOESN'T count, because it's not based on any deep sociological studies, it's based off of piece-wise functions that have an infinite amount of solutions. When this was put into place the economy did this, the liberals believe [insert Fox News propaganda here], and now the whole welfare system is for junkies, a more privatized health care system is bad for middle income families because of [insert CNN propaganda here]....really? is it really? how do you KNOW? you've done the mathematical equations necessary to produce a polynomial fit to the data of world events that tells you what effects come from what causes?!

Or did you put together some general idea based off of the label you've given yourself "liberal" or "conservative" or even“Green party” and what other liberals and conservatives would, and have said?

Those talking heads on TV spend every waking hour propagandizing to the American people about what this that and the other is going to do because they get paid to do it, and they get higher ratings and support when they can rile up enough people. But at the end of the day, joe shmoe's--you know? the person watching these talking heads, avidly, most likely YOU--his political insights are about as valuable as his ideas on cold fusion, because those insights are all based on pointing fingers--not cold, hard studies.

Is it important that we figure these things out? yes...
...is it important that we talk about it? yes...

…but do any of you people who get into these dems, repubs, liberals, and conservatives back-and-forth-moot-point high-school-history class "debates" REALLY know what you're talking about, or is it perhaps this feeling of ignorant complacency that compels you, that keeps you asserting the same things that don't work or truly make sense, because all parties have had their "day" to fix things and as far as I can see, none have been successful. Either because their "plan" didn't work, or it was too easily undone...or the human psyche and sociological network is just too damn complicated to have some yuppie political science/business management majors run the nation? The problem with politics and our government in particular is it relies on WAAYY too many people to get anything significant done…

...quick!! quick! Someone make a comment saying that I am calling for a government akin to a Totalitarian Dictatorship!!

Hurry up before I shoot it down with this statement…

...you need a panel, of goddamn smart m-f-ers, that actually think about what they’re saying and doing, rather than making childish illusory correlations asserting that “left” thinking or “right” policies change the American standard of living instead of the chaotic nature of sociolgical trends and interaction.

No one who claims to or acts as if they KNOW how policies and Presidents, and votes are going to affect the American way of life should be taken seriously; if you personally feel a sudden rush of emotion and adrenaline when talking about how "socialistic" America has become or will become, or hasn't become, then you're one of these people that should not be taken seriously...

If you personally have a feeling of disdain for conservatives in particular, or liberals in particular, then you're one of these people that should not be taken seriously...

I know we're a tribal species where individuals rely on others in the tribe to survive because as individuals we are weak, crippled, and inefficient...but the bi-partisan stuff, that’s all BS, none of that matters, the world sociological structure and America’s as well is far more complicated than two sides of thinking could encompass. You’re terribly mistaken if you don’t realize it, you’re painfully ignorant if you think that having these two “schools” of thought have helped the nation significantly…yes it keeps it going, no it does not aid in good progress…only piece-wise progress, with an infinite amount of solutions…

You are calling for a government akin to a Totalitarian Dictatorship!!

Sports IS a dictatorship, whereas politics and government is run by the people (supposedly, and depending on where you live).

Debating politics is a way of professional and mental growth for some. I acknowledge that I have conservative views, which are regularly attacked... many times with slander. But the same goes in the other direction. You cannot take it personal or you will spin your head and emotions into the ground.

People are empowered with the ability to express their views. Attacks against my views are often, but I am thankful that there are people, no matter the side, that are involved enough and care enough to state them... let alone have the freedom to.

What you cannot yet see is how history unfolds. The recent Obama Healthcare Bill is history- MAJOR history. It is one of the most important events of 2010, yet here we are in March and have another nine months until the next fiscal year.

In simpler terms, 90% of everything is crap. The 90% is the daily trolling done by posters and news networks alike- all in a mad rush to get the lead on the next new hot thing... history does not work like that.

The problem is that we have 24 hour news coverage and there isn't 24 non-stop hours of news to cover.

If you think back to Bush (ugh), we are reminded of a half dozen gaffes and mishaps in a failed Presidency- we forget about the other 90% of what happened between 2000-2008. Alls we know is 911, Iraq, Gitmo, The Patriot Act and little else- we forget about the day-to-day prattling that is non-stop news.

If Obama does absolutely nothing for the next two years, he will still be remembered as the guy who got healthcare in America done. And all you haters are clearly in a class where you don't benefit from something as simple as health care: the ability to be physically well. You take it for granted. Now imagine you have no healthcare and no one gives a shit about your well being... ah, you're on the road to understanding the big picture- being healthy is a right.
