Is this what the Tea Party is all about?

A number of Democratic offices have been vandalized; democratic members of congress and their families have been threatened with violence in the the wake of healthcare reform becoming the law of the land.

Sarah Palin has sent out mailers with gunsite targets on the states of selected Democrats. And no one from the Republican Party/Tea Bag Movement have condemed these acts of violence. Senior Republican and former Republican presidential nominee, John McCain has told Democrats that they will not get any support from Republicans no matter what the issue is for the rest of the year.

The action in the streets reminds me of the Nazi Brown Shirts. They cannot get their way through legal processes so they use violence, threats and intimidation. The action of party leaders is at least complicit. And in the case of McCain, outright childish. If you don't get your way, take your toys home and pout. He is supposed to be a national leader. He is supposed to be acting in the interest of the nation.

Shame on you John McCain. You disgraced the uniform you once wore. Shame on you John McCain and those like you.

The right wing spin is that these are isolated incidents with no proof, and are being exploited by the left to make the opposition look bad.

Hey, look how the GOP behaves when they don't get their way! Look at them go! This is the kind of shit that happens when you spread distortions, lies and factual inaccuracies. The offenders in these cases may be in the wrong by themselves in choosing this path as a means of expressing their concerns; I will give you that. However, they are acting on the lies, distortions and factual inaccuracies being perpetuated by the conservatives.

Just in case you don't get it, this means you. You are going to get someone killed. Thugs! THUGS!

And these guys would not have had the motivation for these crimes had it not been for the fools in the GOP deliberately misrepresenting the bill in the name of politics. The GOP writ large is more responsible for these crimes than the people who commited them; the people who commited them probably didn't know better, and they though they were resisting some kind of communist plot or something. The GOP ought to be thrown out of politics for all time. They are like Al Capone and the Untouchables. They really think they can say or do anything they want to and not be held accountable.

Never forget, the GOP are still the same thugs who decided that hundreds of thousands of innocent people, in Iraq, deserved to die. The GOP authored the PATRIOT Act. One of their AGs made his living by getting criminals and violators of EPA regulations off the hook, and his successor, Gonzales, was a major abuser of power. And never forget how vicious and libelous the ad campaigns were while the GOP was in power. Don't be fooled by the fact that they are not in power anymore. We are dealing with the same people as before.

Hello, if you are a liberal and you are reading this, try to take into account that Winston Churchill was only different from the liberals, in his government, in the fact that Winston Churchill had seen for himself how vicious, racist and savage the human race can be to each other. Unlike the liberals in Parliament, he had watched while that brute, Kitchener, went about doing the Empire's dirty work. Churchill knew how evil the human race was capable of being. Otherwise, he was arguably the most liberal politician in the entire British government. He had gotten his ideas from men like Gibbon, Plato and other philosophers, and he at some points in his life criticized Christianity, at least traditional Christianity, on a regular basis (although I am not sure how relevant this last point would be in the context of the political divisions of that time period).

Well, take a hint: the GOP are thugs. There is no peaceful or fair way that they can be dealt with. No diplomatic solution is possible. I know it's against your liberal sensibilities to actually have a ball and admit that your opponent is the Devil, but this is not a drill: there he is. You can call me an extremist or a paranoid schizophrenic or any other insult you want to lobe at me. I've heard them all. Try listening for a change before the brownshirts start actually killing people. All the GOP needs for a violent takeover is to look the other way while their extremists murder or intimidate their opponents, and make believe it's politics as usual. If you don't think they're mad enough to go that route, I beg you to reexamine your illusions of security. The conservatives and anti-government extremists have only gotten crazier since the Oklahoma City Bombing.

It ain't "crying wolf" when you have a real wolf breathing in your face.

Can you imagine if someone spit on a Republican Congressman after they passed the unconstitutional Patriot act? They would of been arrested, vilified, and all protests would of been banned from the capital hill grounds.

This is what Minority Leader Boehner in the House said recently about a Democratic collegue:

""Take [Rep.] Steve Driehaus, for example," he says. "He may be a dead man. He can’t go home to the west side of Cincinnati."

    Other examples:

Please check your facts before going online to once again denounce the Republican Party/Tea Party.
Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), the majority whip, said Democrats and Republicans should continue to speak out on these threats. “Silence gives consent,” Clyburn said.

But Minority Leader John Boehner already has condemned threats of violence — and sought to explain why people are so angry.

“I know many Americans are angry over this health care bill, and that Washington Democrats just aren’t listening,” Boehner said. “But, as I’ve said, violence and threats are unacceptable. That’s not the American way. We need to take that anger and channel it into positive change. Call your congressman, go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, make your voice heard — but let's do it the right way."

A Republican aide also pointed out that over the years Republican members of Congress received their fair share of death threats during volatile times. Newt Gingrich after the 1994 Republican revolution and the late Henry Hyde during the Clinton impeachment in 1998 both received numerous death threats. And just last month, Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) received death threats after his filibuster of unemployment benefits, according to a report in Roll Call.
