By 13 Attorney Generals, and some states are doing their separate lawsuit while others are using their legislature to block it:

Just what I wanted... We desperately need the Federal Government and States to start fighting each other

Let them sue, let the legislation be reinforced by legal judgements, it will hold up.

Probably will- but after the States lose the people will realize even more that all three branches of government have screwed them! That's what I want from this challenge

Look, when people start to realize that they can get affordable health care, that they can't get dropped for pre-existing conditions, that they can't get dropped if they pay their premiums, they will wonder what they ever did without it. No one can run on taking these rights away.

They can if those rights cost people a fortune.

People tend to get mad when you start sticking your hand in their wallet.

Like with the Iraq war? What righty was complaining about the cost of that?

Health insurance is something people see when they get their paycheck. When rates rise on them you watch how fickle Democrat voters get.

If the war cost was deducted from people's pay like insurance is then people would care and these nonsense wars would be put to an end.

That's why the cons didn't incorporate costs of the war into the budget.

Without stating my stance on this issue-- I must point out a flaw here.

Spidergoat, if the majority of people don't want it, even out of ignorance, even if it IS a much better system-- It cannot be FORCED whether they like it or not with the assurances they WILL like it if they give it a chance.

That is not what the United States is about.

This country- MY country, needs a better education system, too. A better educated crowd that is better versed in researching issues rather than jumping on bandwagons might make different choices in casting votes and in who they elect.

    However, they cannot be forced.

Now, I realize your post did not say "Let's force it." But it does kind of come across that way.

Valid.. kind of.. but how does that make the bill or the war right or wrong because of which side supports it?
    No sh*t!

I'm sick of "well, the republicans did this and that and blah blah blah". Using the fact that something is a Left issue, or this over here is a Right issue, republican or democrat... I think it's more accurate to use the term Republicrat. The Blue vs. Red team nonsense is a smokescreen and a diversion. I don't make excuses for one side or the other. I certainly won't support or not support an issue because it's Left or Right.

My father for one is an example of someone who buys into that. It's sad really. We could both agree to the shortcomings (or outright evils!) of the Shrubbery regime, but that's where it ends.
A few days ago I expressed my misgivings in a very brief response to his comment about Republicans want to "SCRAP THE WHOLE THING AND START OVER!" and I said something like "Well, they probably should." And then I mentioned the fact that they wanted to forgo an actual proper vote and just slip it through using some arcane chicanery. He then asked me why I was supporting the Republicans...

When in recent history have that many states all sued at once or attempted to block or nullify?

I have an insurance with my employer (there are much worse out there )

    1) it has "pre existing condition clause", no coverage for 1 year for previously uninsured (i.e. me).
    2) with 20/80 + $2,000 copay, it's not a real insurance. A 3 day stay in a hospital with a tab $300,000, 20% of 300,000 = 60,000 + interest = bankruptcy.

Please, explain me how Obama can make it worse? What about Wal-Mart "insurance"? Will Obama plan destroy that majestic private health plan too? Actually, that's what my Wal-Mart acquaintance told me - four months ago Wal-Mart jacked up price for its "insurance" ($400 you pay, $1000 - maximum amount of "benefits"). Reason? Obama health plan (4 months ago!), those were the exact words of management gurus introducing good news.
