I was analyzing the annual budget is Israel for something else, which maybe I'll post a thread on later, and I came across two references that actually allow us to put this issue in perspective. As you can see from this site, Israel's annual budget is about 311 billion dollars. http://www1.cbs.gov.il/shnaton60/st10_07.pdf From this site, you can see that the US government actually only gives them about 2.4 billion dollars a year. I think if we stopped giving them aid, they'd be fine. If we keep giving them aid, it won't break us.
