hmm...definately interesting. Too slow though. You redraw the entire screen on every refresh don't you? Have you tried working with "dirty" boxes? What did you use to write this? I'll assist if I can help you learn anything.

Well sometimes their called dirty rectangles. It means that instead of redrawing the entire screen you only draw the rectangles (boxes) that need redrawing. If it is say, 60% or more of the screen then it just redraws the whole thing, but most of the time it only needs to redraw your little stick man. Also, the bad guys don't seem to do much.

Are you interested in real game programming, or just a game maker?

hm. interesting.

and yes i am interesting in actual programing. i just have no idea where to begin or what to start w/. and i only started this game as a dumb lil project. nothing big so i dont rly care what in the world i use to make it. but if youd be so gracius as to give some links or what not ide be more than willing to go beyond my pathetic attempt at fo-proging.

i know the monsters do absolutly nothing but bounce around and kill you. i tried to do more w/ em but got all jumbled up.

I'm very impressed!! :) :D I like it. But what are those green cloud things that appear?? Is that Al trumping after he has eaten the burger? Impressive! If you can do that you could create almost any game you imagine! I once wrote a text based adventure (you know, the ones were you type N for North, and 'Take, etc.). It wasn't very good though, and it was a long time ago.

i made one in BASIC before i knew what a text based rpg was when i was about 12 years old.

it was so shitty.

Haha, I think we all started off by writing text based adventures. I wrote 2 actually when i was about 9 or 10, in QBASIC. One was about Superman (come on...every 10 year old loves superman) and the other was a bit more researched in was all about Thor and included just about everything in the Norse mythology, I was quite happy. It didn't actually revolve around Thor, it revolved around his hammer, Mjolnir. Anyway, I lost it a long time ago... but its still fun to remember.

At least you can make a game...
I can only think about it, plus I often think about modifying big games...
