I just got an e-mail from my little brother. Apparently he learned something interesting in school, because he was asking how anime reflects the principles of Zen Buddhism. Anyone know what he means?

Well i guess that would have to be certain anime not all of them. I don't have clear cut examples of how it does but DBZ has a monk in it..or a former monk named Krillin. Like i said i don't think all animes reflect examples of Zen buddhism...specially not crap like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh..but then again you never know.

I see more Shinto influence in anime, since nature is worshipped in that religion. There just seem to be many of the magical warrior shows that deal with the elements.

I seem to remember something about three mythological treasures in Japan, those have shown up on Sailor Moon and other shows, but I don't remember if that was Buddhist.
