I saw some car commercial the other day. Its basicly just some grey/silver car driving around a city with a sweeeet folk style song playing. the song goes something like this "im gonna drive my car car... vrrrrmmmm vrrrmmmm vrrrmmmm.... im gonna drive my car car vrrrrmmmmm vrrrrmmmm...... im gonna honk my horn horn.... im gonna let you honk my horn horn.... gggbbbrrrroookkk grrrbbbookkk woooooga wooooooga" As you can see, its pretty much amazing. does anyone know the name of this song or who it by?

It's "Take Me for a Ride in the Car-Car" by Woody Guthrie. A nursery rhyme from the 1930s or 40s. Woody was Arlo's ("Alice's Restaurant," "City of New Orleans," which was written by Steve Goodman) father. He was incredibly prolific. Many of the songs we unconsciously accept as traditional American folk songs, such as "This Land Is Your Land" were in fact written by Woody Guthrie. (I think it's "Woody" and not "Woodie" anyway.)

Actually, it's "Riding In My Car".

And yes "y", not "ie" in Woody.

He has some good stuff, thanks to Bob Dylan pointing me to him.
