1) This is a genuine psychological test

It is a story about a girl. While at the funeral of her own mother, she met this guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be, that she fell in love with him there but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later the girl killed her own sister.

Question: What is her motive in killing her sister?

Give this some thought for a while and then write your answer, and I give you the correct answer tomorrow.

2) And heres another, but this is a moral/ethical dilemma about your character?

that was once actually used as part of a job application.

You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night. You pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.

2. An old friend who once saved your life.

3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

how would you deal with it, Give this some thought for a while, and then write your answer, and I give you the correct answer tomorrow.

1) These two seemingly unrelated incidents are have no straightforward connection; a girl attending her mother's funeral and her killing her sister. Looking further into it, if she killed her sister, the funeral would be quite similair to her mother's funeral, so maybe she could meet this dream guy there.

2) This question does not specify that only one person could be picked up, but I assume that is the case. My first instinct would be to pick up the friend, but I would probably have to pick up the old lady. Her life is in danger, this should come first. My friend and the woman ("perfect partner") may have to sit out in the rain for a while if I don't give them a ride, but the old lady may lose her life if I don't take her. Therefore, assuming that the friend and the woman will not die, I would take the old lady. I could take care of the friend and the woman later, or at least call someone else to pick them up.

1.She and her sister were involved in an auto accident in which she survived and her sister didn't.

2. So if I'm driving by a bus stop and they are waiting I know that they are all going to get on the bus so I'd just pull over and have a conversation with them and find out if I could give any of them a lift or if anyone need help.

1. maybe she killed her mother. after all, she didn’t seem to care much that she was dead, what with thinking about the guy. therefore, she may also want to kill her sister for the same reason she killed he mother. =]

2. pick them all up. the chances of all of them being killers is pretty low, and if you have more people around a killer would probably not strike.

ohh, yeah. I didn’t read anybody else’s answers before I answered so if I assume only one can be picked up:
firstly, just because someone doesn’t look good (old lady) doesn’t mean they are going to die. however if you somehow did know then it would be her picked up first. otherwise, if she just looked like she was old I would pick my friend up (assuming they all need a ride) and I would just give the other two money for the pay phone. or if there were no pay phone then I would ask for numbers so I could call their friends/family when I dropped off my friend (assuming I would not be gone too long). if they had nobody to pick them up and they would be stuck there in the rain then I would pick up the perfect mate first, because she would be most likely to get in trouble if a gang or something were to come (because if she is the perfect mate she would be very attractive). second I would pick up the old lady so she would not be stuck there alone and maybe in danger. and my friend third, after all, he/she would probably be most understanding if I left him/her alone.

The guy was her sisters husband.

This question leaves much to imgination.... poor wording.

I would offer the a lift to all of them, but first the friend, then the old lady, then the dream girl.

The friend will want to catch up with your life, while the dream girls listens in on what kind of person you are.

Bringing along the old lady will make you seem like a good guy to the dream girl, whilst making the old lady feel good about her self too.

Finally be sure to drop off the dream girl last, so as to have a personal conversation with her which can lead to who knows what.

Her sister killed her dream guy.
Knowing she met her dream guy and let him slip away had made her über-upset.
She gets a rush from killing people.
Her sister used her hair curlers without her permission for the last time.
It was her time of the month.

It could be anything, really.

I assume I can only have one person in the car at a time.

I would take the old lady first, since she could catch pneumonia from being out in the storm, which could mean death for her. I would take her to her home or to wherever she needed to go.

Then I'd go back and take my old friend. We haven't talked for a while! I would take him/her to wherever he/she needed to go, then get contact info from him/her so I could call and write letters and all that shit.

Then I'd get my perfect partner. Afterwards, we'd get hitched and grow old together!

Maybe he's just curious about how we at SciForums would answer these questions.

These are fun questions, Preacher. If ya have any more, please post them!

Without more information, one can't actually come to a reasonable conclusion about the first scenario. Her motive could easily be a matter of inheritance, her sister was competition for the guy, she's hoping the guy will come to the funeral, long-time anger between the two of them which was brought to the surface again when they went to their mother's funeral (assuming the sister went), or a very vast number of other things.

In the second scenario:

a) If the old lady is really about to die, I doubt my giving her a ride would make a difference.
b) I must assume that if in the scenario I was meant to know this "perfect partner" it would be mentioned. Therefore, I don't know them, and have no way of knowing if they're my ideal partner... I can't tell by looks. Therefore they become just some random guy at a bus stop. I wouldn't give him a ride, unless it were to seem a particular emergency.

So:
Unless the old lady seemed as if she was actually in need of being rushed to a hospital, instead of just being extremely old, I would stay. I can talk to my friend, while keeping both him/her and the old lady safe from the potential threat of the guy (while we're at it, even old ladies can be dangerous... my friend and I are both better off if we stick together.) In the process I can attempt to find out whether or not the guy is a perfect partner for me.

CounselorCoffee, what if it is a true story?

Allegedly clinical sociopaths almost always guess that she killed her sister to get the man to attend the next funeral. So if you answer that way, you're a sociopath.

However, the correct answer is that I killed her. Then I planted a car bomb that killed everyone involved in the second story.

I am sincerly sorry people, I omited a line in the second question, "
You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night. You pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:
your car is a two-seater sports, so you can only take one passenger."

those of you who assumed that, thank you.

the answers however are:

1) Answer:
She was hoping that the guy would appear at the funeral again. If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath.

This was a test by a famous American psychologist used to test if someone has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in this test and answered it correctly. If you didn't answer correctly - good for you.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.

2) answer: "give the car keys to your old friend, and let him take the lady to the hospital, you can then stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of your dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we give up our stubborn thought limitations. and "Think Outside of the Box."

She killed her sister so that she could attend the funeral, then meet the guy again.
