My theory.... We could try an allow a new government to handle a united states security, an a currency with out much law making an controlling over the United states. That puts the majority of all control an power into the individual states. The way I perceive this is a tad unusual in a way. The governors see get together an cast votes on the currency an select what states governor gets "picked" kinda like the pope. An that head governor runs a "police group" that combines certain officers to "watch" out an "police". Crime (similar to interpol) an illegal activity's. An assisting the states in training other officers. An that "governor select" is "active" as "head man" for 5 years. From the time he's picked. An he still runs his state. He also cycles some multi state armed forces into conflicts. If need be An the states of course have troops they could send elsewhere if they wanted. An these states are united an distinct. An yet have more powers. I could continue on. But I'm trying to keep it short. Could my theory of government be successful, an work well. Could this be better than what the U.S. Has now. What would need to be tweaked. To make this "idea" useful to other areas as well? I hope I have explained enough. An yes I came up with this all on my own. Even if you think it is a little crazy. An I had typed this originally in a post an decided to start a thread for it.
I went back and took a relook on this old thread of mine. Anyone else have a way to improve the concept? Or opinion or thought? Any idea something like this wouldn't work and why? Or do you think it would as a base plan?
Why this is in Business and Economics sub-forum is a bit perplexing. But that said, why do you think it would be better? It's your idea. So you should have some reason to think your proposal would be better. What problems are you trying to fix? What's wrong with the current set up and how will your states-rights platform remedy it? And what new problems might your proposal create? But here is the thing, the US government we know today isn't how it has always been. After the American Revolution the founding fathers created something very similar to what you have proposed. The Constitution we know now was the remedy they created to fix the problems they created with their loose confederation of individual states. The lose confederation of states didn't work, that's why the founding fathers created our current constitution. They wanted and needed a stronger central government to fix the problems associated with a lose confederation of states: hence our current constitution and government.
