sorry if this has already been a thread recently, im new to the forums.

One of my personal favorites right now is Infantry Online. Its 2d online game, with ctf, an "RPG" if you can call it that, and several other ways to play. The playerbase dropped significantly after it went p2p but you can log on as a guest, give it a try.

    Infantry Online

Another long time fav is Counter-strike, the famous free mod for Half-life.

    CS

And allthough i no longer play, Diablo 2 (the expansion included of course) is a very fun game with high replay value, its a hack and slash RPG, which still has a quite large online player base.

    Diablo 2

those are my personal favs, along with Addicting Games

    What are your favs?

Graal online and Ultima online... more for the people on it than the games themselves.

If you play Graal and ever meet a guy named Pachuka... run. *sigh* the only game where you can beat people with fish and then make your horse breath fire.

I rarely buy online games, because most often they're not worth the price. Like everything by Blizzard except Starcraft. And even starcraft, I don't think it's worth that massive price.

    re

i would say currently my favorites are JK2 for the sword combat (saber) and the new free addon to RTCW Enemy Territory. Nice team based combat with purpose. I play Neverwinter nights every now and then though

Mine is still Battlefield 1942. Been playing that game for about a year now. With mods like Desert Combat, Eve of Destruction, and Action Battlefield, there is a lot of replay value!

I even have my own clan for it called Battlefield 1942 International. Or tag is -BFI-. If you play BF and see that tag, prepare to get whooped on

We've recently started posting screenshots of our evening battles. Here's one of several currently on our site:

...it was taken from the Eve of Destruction mod, which takes place in the Vietnam Era.

If anyone else here plays BF, I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!

I would have to say currently I am torn between medal of honor and wolfenstein. I am sure as you can guess that I am a big fan of World War 2 games and if you haven't tried either of these yet I highly recommned you do. Both are free to play online and are not to hard to learn or play.

What?!?! none of you play PlanetSide?

Its a pretty good FPS, but it has a lot of balancing issues.. and knowing SOE, they wont be fixed for a while...

but my favorite non pay-to-play online game would have to be Neverwinter nights..But Hardcore Ruleset and hardcore death rules make it more tedious than fun.... oh well.

And then theres Battlefield 1942... *drool*

    Happy gaming!

Ut2k3. I'm playing alot of the new mod Faceoff. A little like counterstrike, in fact one of the first things the community did was port over Aztec for it. The community being the mod community and not the mod team.

RTCW was good but I got bord of it
Battlefield 1942 I have tried before but for some reason I never cared for buying it with desert combat though I might hang my self for this mistake. Call me old fashion but I have always like modern realistic play and single player games... but there are many exceptions though I'm not sure what my tastes are

Ultima Online, I started playing the Ultima games as a teen, now 34. I played UO for years, but finally had to sell my account as I was so completely addicted, I had to stop cold turkey. That game is worse than crack, granted I have no experience with drugs, but I believe the analogy fits.

I love Battlefield 1942, but actually almost strictly play the Desert Combat mod. I recently started playing DiabloII, not bad, but a little to hack and slash.

Does anyone know of any games like the Ultima 6-9 games, that are either single player or free Internet, I would really love to know. Thanks.
