So now the military will hire mercenaries? all the criminals of the world can be hired instantly, already military is ignoring the alcohol abuse and drug usage, they are letting go most of the criminal charges... whats next? Recruiting centers in Jails? this is some serious stuff, it does explain all the civilian deaths caused by them world wide, lack of moral and training i suppose, there were times when USA's armies were consider the ONLY true good guys.... what times have brought us.

Not only that, those crooks will come back thinking they're cock of the walk.

There's no need to open recruiting centers in foreign countries. Just allow the illegals already in the country to become citizens if they serve in the military. Solves two problems at once.

Or end the war of terror in Iraq and there'll be no need for that.

What a totally harebrained idea! What kind of quality is the U.S. military going to get, anyway, when (only maybe?) citizenship is held out as an incentive? How can a recruit serve a country that is not even his? How many moles will end up in U.S. units? Who really believes that current servicepeople are going to accept / trust these recruits?

The bottom line is that the U.S. forces are stretched to the breaking point, and this demonstrates the absolute desperation of the U.S. government.

Why wouldn't you trust Mexican immigrants to serve in the military? You trust them to build your buildings, clean your house, mow your lawn, etc. My grandfather came to the US from Cuba and then served in WW2. Even during the civil war they'd take guys right off the boat and sign them up for the army. This is nothing new.

Like in Gangs of New york theres immigrants being signed up to fight the civil war as they get off at the docks, however that was ages ago so shouldn't there be a more modern solution.
I think the real issue here is why can't the pentagon build some kind of mechanical droid army to fight for the U.S since its peoples are too appathetic to bother doing so, hasn't anyone in the CIA watched robot wars on tv yet?:D

RAW2000, serving in the military is still the fastest way to citizenship, my platoons in Texas had at any given time 4 to 10 Mexicans serving with the program and at the end of their enlistments they would become naturalized citizens, and as far as I am aware the program still exist for immigrants to enlist and receive citizenship for service to the U.S.
