I think that I could copy and paste all of the threads into this post but I wont. We all know that its Jandt whose doing this. Somebody needs to make a pro-american thread. To point out all of the good that we have done. Not the bad. Every country does bad things.

If you're pro-american, post a thread about why america is great.

Every country in the world exerts influence on other countries. The amount of influence exerted is generally commensurate with the economic size of the nation exerting influence. Thus poorer nations have very little say in shaping the world around them, while wealthy nations have a great say in what happens to the world. This is logical and rational; it's just the way things work. The USA, having the world's largest economy ever, thus has a great deal of influence over the affairs of other nations. It is not wrong that they do so; it's simply the way nations work. Outside influence, of course, makes people in the nations being influenced quite upset. And since the USA is the greatest source of such outside influence, it makes them the biggest targets for aggression directed against outside influences.

Pollux V,

If you're pro-american, post a thread about why america is great.
Pro-American? I don't know if that's what I'd call it. I'm an American. That doesn't mean I'm Pro-America, and therefore Anti-Everything-that-isn't-American.

I'm not saying America is better than any other nation. That would be premature, since I've only visited Mexico and Thailand (I stayed one night in Japan too, but I doubt if that counts ;) ).

I wouldn't call critisizing foreign policies of the American government ANTI_AMERICAN, e.g. Critisizing Saddam Hussain doesn't mean that I have something against the average iraqi in the streets but rather disagree with it's leaders.

Now the big difference between Iraq and America is that Amerca supposed to be a democracy and you can choose your leaders.
Therefore , to some extend, the American in the streets, carries responsibillity for American foreign policies.

Than I can only conclude that those people that voted this particular government of the u.s either:

- agree with their foreign policies
- agree with internal policies but don't wanna know about foreign schoolyard bully policies that come with it.
- are bad informed

- or ? (you tell me)

People hate US for the same reason why people hate the Lakers or the Yankees or Manchester United...

Okay, so this whole US-IRAQI thing is just a sports event:
Yankees vs Dessert-Eagles and you have to support your team.

Okay, I will watch the game on cable tv with some budweiser from my unimportant (and therefore relatively safe for terror) country.

Bring on the cheerleaders!!!
