Yeah, some stores sell gaming cards that you buy and can input the codes online for those that don't have credit cards.

shichimenshyo 12-13-07, 02:02 PM yes....WOW is bad for you, unless you dont have friends in real life anyways.
Challenger78 12-13-07, 06:48 PM Apparently someone committed suicide in china after playing WoW..

nietzschefan 12-13-07, 08:20 PM Wow sucks. Someone had to say it.
vslayer 12-13-07, 08:35 PM it may very well suck, but the point is i paid $40 for it and i expect to be able to make my own judgement of that.

No you do not need to provide credit card details if you only wish to use a game card. All you need to do is enter the numbers on the game card and that should be it. If it keeps coming back and asking for credit card details after you entered all your details (name, email address, etc) and the game card details, email Blizzard.
From memory, you can simply enter the game card details or your credit card details and then move onto the next step.
I understand they were having some issues with billing and payments a week or so ago, so that may be causing the issue. If it keeps asking for credit card details after you have entered the game card number, email them at: billing@blizzard.com
This may also help: Pre-Paid Cards (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20507&categoryId=2324&parentCategoryId=2317&pageNumber=1)
And any other questions about billing or account administration can also be found here: Blizzard Support (http://us.blizzard.com/support/index.xml?gameId=11)

i entered my game card details on page 1, then 2 pages later it asks for additional payment. i wonder if telling it that im in oz will change the signup process...

Ah hang on. Do you mean the game-card or the free month trial you get with the actual game when you bought it (when you buy the game, you get a one month free deal)? You still either need a credit card or a pre-paid game-card to set up your account, regardless of the free-trial period leaflet you got with the game itself.
You still get a month of free gaming, but you need to have either a credit card or a pre-paid game card to set up the account. Once the one month has expired, it will then draw from either the credit card or the pre-paid game-card. With the credit card, if you decide you don't like it, you can cancel the account before the one month free period is over and it won't cost you anything. With a pre-paid game card however, you can't get your money back.
Challenger78 12-14-07, 07:12 AM Please, someone invent a virus that kills WoW users. sorry Vslayer, but we need you here, not in WoW..

Challenger78 12-15-07, 08:30 AM The extremes people go to, is sometimes taken as the norm, e.g, WoW players play for 36 hrs etc, sometime never go out etc. ,thats how the bullshit came about.
Don't do it vslayer. Lineage took a big bite out of my life. Never again.
ashpwner 12-15-07, 10:13 AM Yes i do but it is not legal but you do not have to pay.

wow is a great game
river-wind 12-18-07, 04:46 PM Just chiming in with WoW being a lot of fun.
I travel a bunch for work, so my GF and I both play when I'm away. Better than lunging around a hotel room in the middle of nowhere watching crap on TV.
I also belong to a guild founded by my college roommate and some other college friends. Keeps us in touch better than a reunion once a decade.
And also to say that if you get the 3-month game cards, it's only $13/mo, which is about the cost of going to the movies around where I live.

but we're tared with the same brush, but not all of us play for 36hrs straight
WoW does indeed suck. MMOs are a waste of time and the rules in WoW make the pvp stupid. If you don't mind horrible PS1-style graphics, you can play Shadowbane(which still has the best politics, city building, and pvp of any game I've played) for free...but seriously, MMOs are a huge waste of you life and somewhat addicting, like pain pills.
river-wind 12-19-07, 09:28 AM I ding'ed level 51 last night, with the help of my GF and her brother.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Scarlet+Crusade&n=Agiduada (still shows lvl 50, but should update soon enough)
She made those gauntlets for me. Still haven't found a better pair!

end game almost requires that much time investment unfortunately.......which is why I quit....I couldn't keep up with these ppl who were retired or whatever and were online damn near 10 hours a day.........
PvP is somewhat casual but the rules make it suck.......
