MMMMMM good thead... I can see this thread going in alot of directions..

I'm skeptical about us every being invaded, but I do think a world at peace wouldn't be very peacefull.

Well we already have them arriving from Mexico, China, Cuba, Russia, Europ as well as many other places.

It would totally depend on if the kind of warfare we fight between each other escalates to a point that gives us an advantage over our adversaries.

In one scenario, out development of projectile weapons (like guns and missiles) will defeat aliens whose concept of war involves highly developed hand to hand/melee combat. Then again, our guns would be no match against another alien's laser cannons, force fields, and limitless ammo.

If I remember my history correctly, the Aztec were constantly at war with neighbors, but their isolation didn't do them any good with Cortez showed up with guns.

yeah it might,
but not like this, if some aliens wanted to wipe us out they would have done so already imo,
as anyone having technology to travel long distances through space would no doubt have the means to kill us easily

and from all those Alien ufo sightings,
I'm sure there are plenty of highly advanced beings out there,they just don't care to make contact with humans,for the simple reason we behave like friking animals,killing each other and worse.
maybe when the world is at peace and everyone respects each other.

many people are skeptical as theres been plenty of hoaxes regarding UFO sightings,
but this one from Belgium witnessed by their Police and military jet pilots seems genuinely sincere,dont see any reason why would all these people make up such story

well lets see...the neverending wars between Israel and the countries around it, for one thing...def. takes away the military attention on protecting the entire planet from aliens, we are protecting ourselves from ourselves currently...:cool:

in my country the aliens are all american franchise chains, they are like robot killers. Already we are getting fatter and dying. We'll do anything to be like you.

World peace. would allow us to develop space faster, which would allow us to detect aliens faster. And therefore defend against them.
