    Just like the title says...

Argentina. I'm wearing my Portugal jersey right now though, that I got when I went to France (incidentally, after I lived in Portugal). I want Portugal, but I'm bettin' on Argentina.

Portugal won't even get out of the group. Not with the mighty USA and team Jersey Dudek.

I dont like soccer. But if I had to pick someone, it'd probably be england because england usually kicks ass in the sport.

    Italy look tough to beat.

Italy v. Brazil final - Italy win

    England, sadly, have no hope.

Oh Yeah - Elbaz, you should be supporting England. They have a Canadian player in the team (Owen Hargreaves) who's from your neck of the woods (or prairies). Calgary. Only 21 and starting for Bayern Munich. An excellent player with a bright future (and English parents...)

    France is very unlucky

Yes I am... so I'm not objective

Whatever, this team is world champion, european champion, confederations'champion ! Nice no ?

Zinedine Zidane who is said to be the best player in the world, is out (hurt), Pirès who is one of our best player is out too (hurt) so I think that we can say that they are unlucky !
What a strange thing : we've got a dream team with some of the best players of the world (Zidane, Pirès, Henry, Trezeget, Barthez...) and maybe that we will not get out of our group !
    Bad days for french team...

Well, but french one, my favorite team is Portugal : I like the way they play football. They could win this world cup.

There are lots of good teams this year, so I can't say which one will win (and nobody can do it...).

We will see it in less than 3 weeks now

    Re: France is very unlucky

You must be loving their spanking by US of A.

Portugal is overrated. Their defense and GK are terrible. They have to keep fouling to stop US attacks. France is overrated too. I would put my money in betting USA to get deep into the tournament and win the cup in 2006.

beginner's luck... but dreams are good !

Don't take it too seriously : US are good in basketball because it's their nationnal sport but with "soccer"...
I guess they will not win a world cup until a looooong time.
They will have to play a good Corean team in a few day and we will see if they are still "good".
(I have to admit that they've got a way for their last game so they can get out of their group.)

That games is not luck. There are two own goals by each side. That final score of that game is US 3, US defense 2. US has a very good team this year. Most foreign press are too arrogant to pay attention to US. Portugal was outmatched by speed of US players.

I wouldn't be surprised if Korean gives US trouble because host nationals always overachieve like France in 98. If US can beat Colombia in 94, Korea can beat US, but US will beat Poland easily and advance.

US will win the world cup if we can start getting our best athlets tp play soccer. Right now none of our soccer players are athletic enough to play any other American sports.

I'll even summarize the match, against team "whatervercountry"

After 15 minutes in first half, Roberto Carlos kicks another one past the wall of defenders and makes it 1-0.

Just before half time, Rivaldo fakes being hurt and gets a penaltykick out of it. The score is now 2-0.

After the break, Ronaldo scores out of pass to the box from Roberto Carlos. Easy header, but nice. 3-0

Then, pretty sure of victory and the world cup, somewhere around the last ten minutes, Ronaldo dribles 4 -count 'em- 4 defenders , puts the keeper on his wrong leg and makes it 4-0.

    The end.
