A simple question...will WiMax eventually supplant all other internet connectivity tech, uncluding dsl, cable and optical connections???

Can hardly believe there isnt one person here using Wimax yet. After doing a search I found that the word has only been mentioned on sciforums by me and one other person...wow!

Is it available in your area...is it too expensive...what?

How much are they charging in your area?

Can you buy a receiver or do you have to rent one?

 

I haven't researched prices lately but they were 4 times the expense of cable.

 

Thats odd...around here its about 50 bucks a month.

I understand Google is bidding on the rights to blanket all of San Fransisco with *free* wireless access.

It will probably be plagued with ads though.

 

My DSL service is only about 20.00 a month. So it is still 2.5 times higher than normal DSL service.
