It isn't because 1853 US servicemen have died in this war.
It isn't because an estimated 100 000 Iraqi civilians have been killed in this war.
It isn't because the US is inadverantly creating an islamic state.
Or that women's rights in Iraq are about to be disregarded as per Islamic law.
Or that Iraq's infrastructure is, in fact worse off now than in Saddam's days of rule.
Or that the invasion and occupation of Iraq has created a perfect university for terrorists to learn how to fight the US military.
Or that the price of oil, and the instability of the middle east has forced me to pay almost double when I fill up my gas tank.

I don't support the impeachment of this president because he is losing everything he stated would happen with the invasion of Iraq....creating a democracy...a stable state in the middle east, friendly to the west.

I support this impeachment because he started the war in the first place - lied about the rationale, gave us empty platitudes how wonderful it would be, and disregarded international laws and treaties pertaining to war.
No one is above the law. Not even the president of the United States.

We need someone to do a citizen's arrest on him. And be careful, he may get shot 8 times in the head UK style due to all the terrorist acts Bush has done. He's not a suspect anymore, he is one. Isn't that the way we're supposed to handle terrorists these days, Western Civilization style?

I support going further than that. MUCH much further than that.

Anyway. I don't care about international law, either. I think rules of war are absolutely the most fucking stupidest concept even thought of by human-fucking-kind. Just the mentioned of the word "rules of war" makes me want to gut some random person like a kipper. It's war, damn it. Fucking WAR! Kill, kill, kill! Kill until you ordered to stop.

But, I think bush is a dumbass because he fucked over the economy. The war doesn't piss me off, he does.

Very well, would you care to explain JUST what he did to the economy - except inherit all the problems caused by the dot-com bubble bust, Enron, WordCom, Arthur Anderson, etc. - and then IMPROVE the economy???????

Because that's the way it really was.

Any one who openly states that they *feel* that it is their god-given duty (meaning that they actually feel god chose them for this), to wage the next world war, deserves to be impeached, IMO... i dunno about you, but i like knowing for a fact my church and state are seperate... i have no biased against christianity, but i'm not to fond of leaders bringing in supposed entities, for political council.

Since congress voted to go to war, Bush broke no laws.

Improve the economy? I hope your being sarcastic. He lost american jobs the only time this has been done since the great depression. He had a record surplus and turned it into a record deficit. He gave tax-cuts (Esp. the rich)then spent more.

This is usually how it is in the world of politics is. The republicans give tax-cuts then spend more. THEN the democrats take office when the country is about to go into a depression and tax more to get the country back out of it's hole. And yet you say he improves the economy? Please. I won't even mention inflation and gas prices.

    When WWIII Started

A must read historical account of Terrorism against the US ~

This is not very long, but very informative. You have to read the catalogue of events in this brief piece. Then, ask yourself how anyone can take the position that all we have to do is bring our troops home from Iraq, sit back, reset the snooze alarm, go back to sleep, and no one will ever bother us again. In case you missed it, World War III began in November 1979... That alarm has been ringing for years.

US Navy Captain Ouimette is the Executive Officer at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. Here is a copy of the speech he gave last month. It is an accurate account of why we are in so much trouble today and why this action is so necessary.

    AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!

That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more than 3,000 Americans were killed -AD) and maybe it was, but I think it should have been "Get Out of Bed!" In fact, I think the alarm clock has been buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then.

It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on this sovereign U. S. embassy set the stage for events to follow for the next 25 years.

America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, President Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol of America's inability to deal with terrorism.

America's military had been decimated and down sized/right sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was doomed from the start.

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil continued.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once more.

Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more.

Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber.

The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept.

Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid.

Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked.

Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed.

The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of

1986 that killed 4 and the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, killing 259.

Clinton treated these terrorist acts as crimes; in fact we are still trying to bring these people to trial. These are acts of war.

The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.

The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993 , two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an act of war? The Snooze alarm is depressed again.

Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women.

A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It destroys the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they see that America does not respond decisively.

They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.. These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep.

The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000, when a small craft pulled along side the ship and exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.

And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans think this was the first attack against US soil or in America. How wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.

In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high official in government over what they knew and what they didn't know. But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979.

The President is right on when he says we are engaged in a war. I think we have been in a war for the past 25 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to "Get out of Bed" and act decisively now. America has been changed forever. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said "... it seems all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant." This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world.

Support Our Troops and support President Bush for having the courage, political or militarily, to address what so many who preceded him didn't have the backbone to do, both Democrat and Republican. This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year this is an AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our children in years to come.

Some of you are so blind its scary.

I've no idea where you were for the past few years, but wherever it was you sure weren't paying attention. Jobless rates have been steadly dropping, the stockmarket recovered from the bubble-bust, and the national debt has just been reduced from last year's level. And what inflation? Are you awake? I also noticed you made NO mention of the things I listed that anyone who became president at the time would have faced.

Because of his "War on Terror", gas prices have risen drastically. And I don't believe that many of you here are upper class citizens who are also benefactors in Bush's personal interest groups. Being working class citizens the current gas prices will drive you all insane because of their ridiculous prices. Well deserved.

This is so minute it doesn't even need to be discussed. Even if you do discuss it there was nothing that Bush did to it. If you address what Bush did to this nation with his tax cuts. His loss of jobs, the incredible raise in gas prices, the terrorists he is creating. (that should get us started.)

Oh, really? Although there certainly are severe disruptions in Iraq's oil production - the ONLY real oil problem due to the war, there are other, actual bigger causes of the price increases. Can you spell Nigeria, Venezuela, and most of all C-H-I-N-A?

I never cease to be amazed at how some people can focus on one or two events in the world and totally IGNORE the rest of it. Bleah! (Actually, I'm not. They conveniently ignore those things because it would totally destroy the position they want to take.)

Increased demand in china is the main reason prices have peaked.

How is that relevant? Are you here to present something valid or attack people? Aren't you questioning poster's motives by this statement? Is it the argument or motive in question?

It's going to suck eh? I guess we'll all have to be a bit more productive to compensate. Swim or die, bitches (in this case, I'm one of the bitches that has to crank it up).

17 attacks against us in 25 years by Islamic extremists. Hell, I can list more than that amount of attacks our own citizens have done in half the time. Our own citizens have done more terror attacks to us than the terrorists have. Heck, and you can cut that list by 3/4 if you limit it to terrorist attacks caused by Islamic extemists on mainland America to make the figures look even worse between our citizens and Muslims.

Terrorists will continue to attack us until we leave them the hell alone and let them keep their own lil Arabian land to themselves. But we'll continue to fund Israel, who, as you should already know, has broken the most UN resolutions of any country. And you wonder why the Middle East hates us when we're the only idiot in the world backing those fools? And what for? All for the sake of Christianity because they just might be the chosen ones. And heck, not to mention that while they're the most attrocious country, they're the ones armed with nuclear weapons! Hell, the only reason why we probably don't cut all ties with Israel is because they just might nuke us in return, and I'm not joking.

This is why countries seek nuclear weaponry because it's the only way to defend themselves from America. If you'll notice, every country that is armed with nukes, they don't take any shit from us and we don't cause any shit with them. We're only what we're doing to Iran now because once they have nukes (if they're getting them which has been shown otherwise), we won't be able to boss them around anymore. Israel gets to do what they do, Pakistan gets to do what they do, North Korea gets to do what they do, and we can't do nothin about it.

I hope all countries become nuclear that way nobody will be able to boss anyone around and they'll all get to stick to themselves living how they wish to live without others with a different way of life telling them that their way is better than the other. This is why countries that have a requirement of a rifle in every home has low crime rate and those that lack protection have the highest, yet I don't see people killing/nuking each other because they know it'll happen right back to them. It's a shame that America has so many guns yet so little people own them and because of that, those that lack guns/nukes get bullied by those that do.

We're the ones that first started backing terrorists. For every action that has been done to us by terrorists, it's been in retribution for a legitimate cause, but of course our ignorant selves don't wanna face the truth of the matter because the truth hurts so we'll just forget about all the bad things we've done and act as if we have a clean slate and they're doing what they're doing for no reason at all. Ridiculous. This is yet another reason why I say capitalism is bad because we become nothing but a virus raping all resources. If it weren't for our greedy lil "I need oil like I need heroin" selves, all of what is going on wouldn't be happening. We steal their resources and we wage war with them by backing Israel. But hey, what has Israel ever done to them? They have a clean slate too due to our short attention spans. Go read some history. We deserve everything that is happening to us right now. And yes, it friggin sucks, but what do you expect? Most people tend to only learn the hard way and especially since us Americans are arrogant, that's the only way we'll learn.

I agree with "AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!" but it means something completely different to me than it does to you.

The events of 1979 Iran began 1n 1953 when the USA decided to topple Iran's democracy. But 1953 is not going back far enough because we have to know why the US decided to topple Iran's democracy.

American's should better undrestand their own history and the historys of the peoples who are impacted by US foreign policy.

WW1,2,3, and 4 all have their roots in past centuries and in the psychological roots of political ambitions, emotions and traditions.

You should know that when Bush said, "the terrorists attacked us because they hate are freedom", Bush knew that he was lying. Bush does not want us thinking about why we were attacked because Bush does not want us second guessing US foreign policy. Anybody else who repeats "the terrorists attacked us because they hate are freedom" is either a duped chump or another liar.

We can all understand that you don't negotiate with terrorists because to do so would encourage more terrorists. For the same reason the mid level drug trafficker must kill a low level drug trafficker who is stealing merchandise even if the mid level drug trafficker likes the low level trafficker/ thief.

But what do you do if some of the terrorists demmands are morrally justified? Do you have to never do the right thing just because terrorists have asked you to do the right thing? Israel is unwilling to kill all of the Palestinians and the Palestinians still cling to their hopes and these hopes create problems. The American Indians were made to understand that if the expressed a hope for justice they would be genocided and so they abandoned their hopes and lived peacefully where we put them. But do we want to be the tyrants of the world? Can we win our wars if we don't allow ourselves to exterminate everybody who harbors those who cling to hopes of freedom? We can't both create a real democracy in Iraq and retain control over Iraq. Which will we choose or have we already screwed things up so badly that now neither dream is possible?

The Marshall plan / Germany and Japan are not examples that we can use to show that people can be dominated by us without resenting us. The Germans and Japanese knew they had attacked us and therefore did not feel that our domination of them was an injustice.

Any scholar who claims that the events of 1979 were the beginning of anything is not a real scholar. They are just telling you something that helps you believe what you already wanted to believe. Waking up ends the sweet dream. It is not unpatriotic to see the mistakes as well as the successes.

Actually it is a combination of factors.

First off, there are more people demanding oil than ever before. Now that India and China have industrialized, its like two billion consumers just popped out of nowhere. That certainly takes its toll.

Secondly, we have a very limited oil refining base right now. Oil can't go straight into your gastank from the well, you know. And rememer that America hasn't built a refinery in 25 years and a couple have shut down. Those things cost enough money to start that it would make Bill Gates cringe. Even worse, they are so dirty that American environmental laws might not even let new ones be built.

Yeah because each one of those 2 billion suddenly also received a complementary car and canteen of gas right? No, they are still living in poverse conditions. So all the people who had cars before the industrialization still do, and all who didn't (with some exceptions) still don't.

Hey whats this? China's per capita energy use has been almost the same for the past 2 decades:

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

That doesn't account for such a huge increase in gas. The refineries however do, so that's where I'll remain standing. Another factor is the rising tensions between the middle east and America, namely the royal family of Saudi Arabia, the biggest provider of oil to the world. Where do the rising tensions come from? The invasion of the middle east by America.

They're not stupid people, they know that the Bush administration will seek to destabilize the region no matter what, with or without an excuse. The royal family is upping the price as a contingency plan incase they get ousted, so that they may have billions of dollars in exile.

Just in case you haven't noticed, those figures are five years out of date. And if you've been keeping up with the world activities you should know that during the past four years in China, industrialization has taken off at a TREMENDOUS pace!

Nice try, although anyone who's been paying attention is NOT going to buy it at all.
