Why does christianity consider Jesus(pbuh) as God?
if Jesus was (is) a human like us?
are christians monotheist while they believe in three Gods?
is there more than one God for christians?
what does Jesus do that he is God or like God?
please don't say that 3=1 this statement dosn't justify a wise guy.
    thank you.

Why is there marketing and advertising? Christianity, like all organized religions, has been shaped over the years by people responding to an audience. In its earliest days, Christiany was in competition with polytheistic traditions, and became more viable by appealing to those popular assumptions.

But it was a slipshod job: The story goes that because Allah/Yahweh (Abraham's deity) hated the sin of man, he mysteriously produced another personality or part of himself as an ambassador, who through divine suffering was to balance the morality-deficit and show the way to righteousness for mankind. God took a field trip, becoming man, and showed his love by dying, and even despairing, at our hands- well, "part of him" did. Belief in this disjointed drama has become dogma, or the only way "to the Father", according to Christian scripture. Judaism with a human face- But it's a rather hard-nosed one: "No man comes unto the Father but by Me".

True Christians cannot delve into the motives for this awkward formulation with their beliefs intact. But a more objective survey can logically arrive at a recognition of what the audience most responded to as Christianity first grew in the apostle Paul's day (which was in the century after Jesus' time). We can look back and see how Paul formulated a religion that competed well with contemporary myths and religions in Paul's time and place: Christianity closely resembled and incorporated them, instead of displacing them.

The Prophet Muhammed had a sharply differing approach to polytheism: He lead his followers to displace it, although if you delve into Islam's holiest relics you can find some incorporation. Obviously, it can be dangerous heresy even today for a Muslim to learn or discuss too much such things.

But questioning is the way to truth, and true belief can have no "touchy" subjects: Either we seek truth or we do not. And wherever honest questions are punished, there is hidden a lie.

Because in the bible it says "they are as one" so we assume that that means that the father, son, and the holy spirit are all in one...I don't think body is the right word. Well anyway that's what the holy trinity is by the way. The three of them as one.

3=1. Polytheism wrapped up in a neat but illogical little package.

I think Jesus said something to that effect. What Christians ignore is that he also said things that imply there is no separation between the devine and you and me, so, everyone is also God.

Does the '(pbuh)' after 'Jesus' stand for something?

I've read the bible many a time and have yet to come across anything related to a "holy trinity."

Try these: Here is one Bible search engine.

    Matthew 28:19
    2 Corinthians 13:14
    1 Peter 1:1-2

Agreed with Sock - and how in hell does anyone think you can apply real-spectrum mathematics to the nature of a presumably divine infine being?

If you add an infinite number to an infinite number to an infinite number, do you get 3x the infinity??

Seriously. This is an ages-old islamic argument and it was on crack when it was thought up.

It's like a tree: a tree, depending on where you're standing, presents totally different aspects. If you're in the branches, a tree looks like leaves. If you're standing on the ground, a tree looks like a trunk. If you're under the tree, you're probably dead, but if you weren't, a tree would look like roots. But it's still one tree. It's not three trees. The parts are all necessary to the being of "tree".

I'm a secularist, but how in the hell can people not conceive of this basic idea? Where's the logical error?

    Too easy.

So, your god is a tree? That explains a lot.

1 + 1 + 1 = 1? And you say that person that argued against this was on crack? Basic Idea? Yeah, you're on crack alright.

Again, given the selected text by hypewaders, I find no evidence of a holy trrinity in the bible. Father-son-Holy ghost. A lie. There is only GOD. HE has no partners. All things other than HIM are HIS creations.

4.171] O followers of the Book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not, Three. Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one God; far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.

does(did) Jesus worship God or not?if he worships(worshiped) God then God worships(worshiped) God and if he dosn't(didn't) then he is(was) sinful.

LMAO - so the guy that can't figure out a simile's going to give me a theology lesson.

But it wasn't me that invented it, little dkb. Sorry, chief. =) Try again?

Again, for this argument to be anything other than a fart off into existential space, you'd have to demonstrate that the Trinity is in fact polytheism.

    Good luck on that one.

So a Quranic quote is your basis for proof. And you don't see any conflict in citing it? Didn't Mohammed get his view of Christian theology from a "heretical" monophysite Christian sect in the Arabian peninsula? Wouldn't that constitute 'pre-colouring' of his views?

DKB128 since you do believe in the idea of god, would this be an impossibility for her? What are her limitations?

You lost me there puppet Sock. Her who?

I believe in GOD. I do not believe that 1 + 1 + 1 = 1. My GOD has no limits. A god in need of a son has limits.

Yes, it's my proof and no he didn't get his ideas of Christian theology from a "heretical" monophysite Christian sect in the Arabian peninsula.

Stands to reason that the son of a god would be a god. And yes everytime someone says Jesus is Lord or All things in the name of Jesus or Jesus loves you...

You are taking the praise from GOD and giving it to one of HIS creations and since GOD is the only ONE worthy of praise, you have made Jesus god.
