I was talking in a thread last night that got locked down. It was in free thoughts and the mod I guess James said locked down for silliness? I am new here and all but isn't that what FREE THOUGHTS means you can say what you want?

Haven't you heard? Ze new rules und regulations on SF, FORBID silliness. Our minister for silliness, spuriousmonkey has stood up to the new regime and got infracted for his outspokenness. A group of diehard supporters are keeping vigil by his bedside praying for his speedy recovery.

If they ban joking and silliness I guess I better say my goodbyes now...we can't all be such intellectuals.......I think we need a new Category
for the MISFITS to gather...the ones that are not smarter then the average Sci forum member.......I nominate myself for the MOD there.

By definition, 50% of SF members are going to be "not smarter than average"...

Umm... what thread was it? And as I have said before, I always hated the name "Free Thoughts." It seems to imply 100% freedom in speech. I'd rather have the name changed to "Off Topic." I don't mean to change the name so the Nazi moderators have more freedom in being assholes, but just because members use the "Free" part as a reason to bitch.

I will try and find it.......nothing bad......racist or mean was said.......killjoy posted a pic of some Star Wars dude with a sign for money or something.
It was pretty funny.......then james came in and said thread closed enough posts with silliness......I didn't get it.

It was in About Members: http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?p=1423801#post1423801

The thread is closed because of the current trend to start "bestest" member threads. One is enough, 5 is too many.

Threads get locked because mods just "feel" like locking it...there's no other cause besides this...

Oh hush. If this (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=67631) goes through, you'll learn quickly what mods would REALLY like to do versus what mods really do. There are lots of things I don't like, but do you see me taking action? Usually not. The same for a lot of other moderators.

Anyway, the issue has been resolved. Thread closed because I feel like it.

I find the fate of this thread to be a bit ironic. At least, I am laughing.
