I found out something interesting today, that Coca-Cola removes tar from vehicles. I tried the same with Pepsi and it didn't work. Does anyone know what they have in Coca-Cola that acts as a tar remover? Because I'm not sure I want that circulating through my blood stream :p
While you are listing things Coke does here's another. When hot it is a good remover of corrosion around battery posts.

It's probably the carbonic acid.

Isn't Pepsi also got carbonic acid?:)
Maybe Pepsi does do the trick, I just didn't want to stand in -20 C weather long enough to find out. If it does, it takes a lot longer than Coca-Cola does. Maybe they've still got cocain in their stuff
is the active ingredient in Coca-Cola.
It also is very useful for removing rust.

Well, anything carbonated has carbonic acid. I'd hazard an attempt with soda water first before trying the Coke, to avoid any complication the sticky sugar residue of a soft drink.
Of course, as organic solvents go, alcohol is about the best since it's a bit stronger and evaporates pretty quickly. And of course it can have dual purpose. :)
I have never drank smth more unnatural and filled with chemicals than coke. Pepsi is a bit better but not perfect too. That is why I have excluded any lemonades from my list. Now I drink only water, juice and kvass[a latvian drink-smth like beer only without alchocol, very tasty]

I remember an experiment involving a milk tooth and a can of Coke.
If you drop a tooth into the can and leave it, the tooth eventually will disolve, this is due to the acids within the coke.
This pretty much put me off drinking coke, although coke didn't give me the Brown furry tongue that Pepsi did.
I know from experience that a Can of coke can stop someone running away with something from a persons pocket... although my mate wasn't too pleased to be hit in the small of his back with half a can of coke (took him to the floor) Of course that was many years ago.
I have been known to clean my Cd's with a Deodorant canister, the problem is that now my computer stinks of deodorant.

I wasn't aware that all carbonated beverages contained carbonic acid, I was lead to believe that carbonic acid was produced on the tongue when you drink the beverage due to the reaction of enzymes in saliva and the carbon dioxide in the drink. This is why it gives a tingly feeling on your tongue and sometimes allmost painful if you drink too fast :)
Coke is very corrosive though.. it will dissolve a copper coin if you leave it in a glass full for long enough..

Isn't that carbon dioxide just dissolves in water to form carbonic acid?
Though carbon dioxide only dissolves slightly.;)

phosphoric acid is the harsh chemical in colas
try putting a nail in a can of pepsi, let it sit for a week and return... it will be dissovled
Did you know tht coke is cheaper than the metal cans it is put in.
So what quality could that be. -5 I quess.
