Why do people like white food? It's so stupid! White bread. Taste the "wonder bread". "The goodness of whole wheat with the taste of white". White bread taste like crap. Seriously. Why do we throw poisonous bleach on our food and feed it to our kids? It's so disgusting!!! Then there's the white rice. Like... why the fuck do you want to throw poisonous crap on rice, just so it looks white? White sugar! Why do we have to process sugar just so it looks white? Once again, it tastes like crap and its unhealthy, but people love it because it looks white. Looks like north americans are subconsciously racist. :bugeye: Please explain the brazilian guy why you, north americans, like all your food to look white...! :bugeye:
Truthseeker, I think you need to get your tastebuds checked, LOL. Actually Whitebread has a particular taste that is second best for PB&J, first being pumpernickel. And homemade white bread is one of the foods of the gods. now when flour is bleached they don't actually use chlorine, wouldn't work anyway. tehy do use a nother agent however, but mostly it is just hulling the dang wheatberry. As for white rice, it's just hulled, a practice the chinese started by the way.
white sugar is bad for you, natural sugar is better for you. white rice is less nutritious than brown rice white bread from processed flour is bad for you, wheat bread is better for you. The fact is artificially processed food for the sake of appearance rather than nutrition or health is not as good for you. Actually natural sugar tastes much better, and brown rice does too once you're deprogrammed from the acquired taste of white rice and white bread is the least tastiest bread possible. It's programming.
Did I say Wonder white bread is the tastiest, no, it has one redeeming virtue it comes in second place for PB&J. However homeamde white brwead from unbleached flour is wonderful, especially with chili of homeamde beef stew. As for rice, i prefer Basmati or brown rice to white rice. But wihite rice is good. Natural sugar is great, except in baking. Granulated white gets much better results.
Vote with your money truthseeker when I was living in the states we never bought white bread we found a bakery in the neighborhood and bought all our bread there. As long as people keep buying it they'll keep selling it.
White bread is nice once a month or every two months or so. There is white bread and there is white bread. Not all white bread is awful. Sugar should be avoided anyway, white or brown.
North Americans have put up with alot. Walk a proverbial mile in their shoes. At the current rate, white food will be the final remnant in this once-great land.
White bread?? Do you mean biscuits and cornbread? The only rice I eat is Rice Crispies and it is kind of brown. Does that count?
White bread, white sugar and white rice are great and anyone who disagrees is automatically gay. Although I agree with the honourable member spuriousmonkey that some white bread tastes better then others. Specifically, the white bread that is sprinkled liberally with white flour after baking is the best.
Ironically most brown sugar is made out of white sugar nowadays since it is easier to get a standard consistency this way. Basically there is hardly any difference. It's better to use less white sugar than to switch to brown sugar.
This threads needs to be linked under the science encyclopedia's reference for 'fruitless chin stroking'

im not a big fan of what modern sushi has become, i eat it the way it used to be eaten, just chop up the fish roll it and eat it. dip it in some soy sauce. none of that fancy shit for me when it comes to sushi. peace.
You mean sliced bread sold in supermarkets? Common, it doesn't really matter what kind of flour is used to make that shit since the list of chemicals they've used to make it is staggering. White bread taste like shit, "whole wheat" bread tastes like shit and I'm quite sure it's just as healthy as white one. I don't taste bread, I taste chemicals. The cheapest wal-mart white bread you can actually burn with lighter. Bakery's stuff is just as "healthy". Let's face it, the only way to get something good is to make it yourself. Industrialism in all its beauty. You now what are the most depressing American Landscapes (for me, of course). Corn belt - Iowa, Nebraska, some portions of Illinois, IN.... Just looking at those humongous fields of corn and wheat as eye can see make me sick. There is nothing there, no weed, little if any wildlife, almost no trees (not because they don't grow there). Amount of chemicals and fertilizers to "achieve" that must be staggering. And they keep planting corn and wheat again and again at the same field with little if any crop rotation. Driving by feed lots with tens of thousands of trapped animals does not really makes me to want to eat meat. Visiting a chicken, hog farms and slaugheterhouses would make many people vegetarians. And what is the point of that "efficiency"?
