Will it be a Dem or a Republican? Will it be Hillary, Edwards, Obama, Mitt or someone else?

Barring some sort of absolute disaster, it will be a Democrat. As to Clinton, Edwards, or Obama ... it will most likely be one of the three, but it's too early to make any reliable prediction.

In order of my preference, and without any implication of prediction:

Edwards
Richardson
Kucinich
Biden
Dodd
Obama
Clinton

The sad thing is, that while I like Barack Obama, and while I greatly appreciate the idea that he's not yet entrenched in old-school politics, his weakness as a candidate seems to be a lack of campaigning wisdom. He's a little too much like an idealistically agressive puppy. There's months to go, though, and I've only recently started paying more attention. But his foreign-policy spat with Hillary and his performance at the AFL-CIO debate have done nothing to impress me. Obviously, if I trade out my personal choices for "electability", the list looks differently:

Clinton
Obama
Biden
Richardson
Dodd
Kucinich

Gravel is a non-entity, unfortunately. I don't mean to leave him off the list, but he's unelectable, and I admit I know next to nothing about him. What little I've seen of him does not impress me. He's just a bit too grumpy and self-righteous. Perhaps this is the wrong impression. There are months to go, and, theoretically, anything could happen.

I agee with Edwards, I have some concerns about Richardson and Clinton. I think both Richardson and Clinton are pretty much bought and paid for. But probably any Democrat would be better than any Republcan...that said i have been a registerd Republican for 40 years. But have not voted Republican since the shrubs showed up.

I have it in my mind that it was Richardson who asked the government to open Groom Lake, and demanded an investigation into Ufo sightings back when he was Governor of New Mexico. I could be wrong about that, though. People have been so focused on tearing down Edwards, though, I haven't even stopped to think about what might be wrong with Richards.

My first choice is Giuliani. I think that Giuliani is the ONLY Republican who is electable: he's moderate on most social issues (like most of America) and strong on the issues that matter most to Americans. I'd like to see him run with Rice... though I don't think she'll run.

NOW, if you are asking me who I think will win: Hillary Clinton. I think that there is JUST enough hatred for the Republicans (thanks to Bush-- it's pretty well earned) and that hatred will foment a platform of electability that will overcome the "gender" issue for most Americans. In an "ugh" sort of way... that fact makes me happy since I am somewhat favorable to living long enough to see the glass celing finally broken (better that it happens at my young age of 32 and not 72). The only Democrat I really like is Richardson, but after him, Hillary is preferable to the rest. She's got some nuts, and that is acceptable.

Several years ago I predicted that Hilary Clinton would be the next President of the USA. I was laughed out of the place..she was univerally despised. Both Americans and Brits poured nothing but scorn on the idea.

However, I still hold the records...I hope!!

I think Hillary Clinton will be elected, but if it were my choice, I'd choose Mike Gravel. Tiassa, you should read about some of his ideas/watch his sections of the debates. He's got huge cojones for some things he says.

Ah in the second part you got it right.

For sure a Woman is going to become President...at the time of my prediction, the americns scoffed at the idea of a Woman being elected. They suggested maybe Condoleeza Rice..I checked both charts...Hilarys was far more positive.

I don't like the Osama guy...a few months ago he was going to crush Hilary but I don't think so...theres something about him that just doesnt fit.

I think Mit Romney will be the next president because he looks the best and Americans are a bunch of idiots.

Clinton will be president. The media and so-called "strategists" knew this back before Bush was elected in '00 when she wasn't even ready to run for NY senate and people said in '08 she would make her move to first get so-called "experience" behind her -- but JFK Jr. stood in her way, and we all know what happened there like the rest of the Clinton hit-list.

As for Giuliani being unpopular in the U.S....don't believe it. He's > 50% favorable in most "favorable/unfavorable" polls, though he's still down friom the > 60% rating he held a few years ago. In the Time Magazine poll in March, Guiliani beat Hillary in a hypothetical head to head race 50% to 41%. If they go head-to-head in a debate, Clinton's screwed, even though Thompson might be worse than Bush.

It is very discouraging to see so many enthusiastic endorsements of mainstream candidates. Are these choices motivated by a desire to 'pick a winner'? Democracy is such a bag of steaming refuse.

That said, I expect Mr Bush to have a third term. My personal choice is either Mike Gravel or Dennis Kucinich.

I'll vote for Ron Paul and we'll probably end up with Hillary.
