I know nominations are a long way off but there are definitely candidates out there who have no chance at winning the nomination but would look good on a ticket.

I'm going with Richardson for the Dems (to get the Latino vote) & Huckabee for the Pubes (for the family values voters).

I'm pretty sure if Hillary gets the nom, she'll pick longtime Clinton insider & loyalist, the current governor of New Mexico-- Bill Richardson. Oddly enough, he's the Democratic candidate I respect the most. He's only in the whole thing to raise money and to get his hat in the ring for the VP job. He's a guy and "white" enough to make him attractive to people who will be squeemish about too much diversity on the ticket, but is hispanic enough sweep the hispanic vote which, unlike the black vote [that is totaly Democratic], can still be won by a Republican ticket.

As far as Republican veeps go, well, if they couldn't convince a diversity candidate to run (Rice, for example) then I think the Republicans are screwed.

I'm not sure who Giuliani would pick. Maybe it's time for a Mormon, but personally, I think he'd be an idiot not to pick Rice, Liddy Dole or Kay Baily Huthison. I don't think the Republicans are aware of how much trouble they are in from fed up female and minority voters who feel ignored by the Republican party. Remember: it's not the Republican voters that the Republicans are after, but the swing voters who could just as easily vote Democratic come November.

Good points, but as a single chick I don't feel fed up by the GOP. They stand for what I stand for: God, country, family...:)

the have repeatly used the religous right they do not stand for god. they have ignored the constitution which does not make them for country. and for family when they wish to create a system where both parents need to work 2 jobs to afford a middle class life style i would hardly say that is pro family

Most Republicans are Christians. We don't have any atheists that I know of.
We are the most patriotic bunch out there. I have never met a patriotic liberal.
We never told anyone both parents had to work. If they want to, that's their choice. It depends on the level of material goods they want.

Republicans are the party of God, country, and family.

the reason you have never met a patriotic liberal is not because there aren't any is the way you define it. i am patriotic and i am a liberal.

Richardson is crazy! He wants to take water from the great lakes to provide for the dry desert areas. I'm sure you don't want to let your own Lake Eerie get wasted.

Sandy, remeber, you are a died-in-the-wool Republican-- they don't worry about getting your vote (for the most part**), they worry about the sing vote: soccer moms are the biggest block of swing votes. At over 25 million THEY are the deciding factor of who is and who isn't a president. Get the soccer moms and you've got the presidency. What's the best way to get THEIR vote while keeping the base?

I think it's sad we live in a country where people will pull a lever based on how a candidate looks: IE, women will vote for women, blacks for blacks, hispanics for hispanics, etc...

Condi Rice? String are you serious? The woman is a disaster...
