Rebellion against Marxism is the first step toward freedom.
Is John Galt Venezuelan? (http://www.objectivistcenter.org/navigator/articles/nav+thalvorssen_john-gal-venezuelan.asp)

Freedom is the ability to live your life without interference from others provided you don't interfere with your fellow citizen's right to do the same.

I don't think "freedom" is used too often per se, but it is too often used to promote policies that have nothing to do with freedom.

donīt you think this word was used too often ? Now why am I not surprised that you would be asking this question? Has freedom been so diminished in Europe that you don't even know what it is?

Might I suggest you peruse the wonderful selection at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/104-5796996-0027900)?
what is freedom ?
Not being subject to the will of others, the ability to do exactly as you please. This is ultimate freedom.
We don't live in a world of "ultimates", so Galt's definition seems best, when it comes to politics.

uhmmm......so nobody has "real" (i prefer this word) freedom !?
hey folks ,slavery is over !!! you donīt need words like "freedom"
you should know that the majority of people thinks that they are free --- i think they are also only slaves
galts definition says that you are free as long as you follow the rules (did i get you wrong ,galt? )
but what when some of this are so BS that you canīt follow them ?
what shall i do with your link ?can i buy "freedom" there ?
No, you microcephalic twit, you can buy a dictionary.
uhmmm......so nobody has "real" (i prefer this word) freedom !?
Not really. We need food and shelter, for one. We're thus enslaved to our own will.
If you mean we're not subject to the will of others, yes, we do have "real" freedom.
you should know that the majority of people thinks that they are free --- i think they are also only slaves
Well, you should be pleased - you're at least not a slave to proper English.

I could be wrong, but I interpreted what Xev referred to as "ultimate freedom" to be anarchy. In an anarchic system everyone is "free" to do what they want, to whom they want, when they want.

Have you been to Sudan or Mauritania lately? Slavery is alive and well in those countries, thanks to the official "religion of peace".
And just because people think they are free doesn't mean they are.

Within the "rules" of individual rights, yes. This is an issue of logic. It is illogical to claim the individual right to violate the individual rights of your fellow man.
I'll get back to you when I finish Atlas Shrugged.
