he who influences people the most. He who holds power/intelligence/knowledge. A moderator group are people in this category. Furthermore the most influential moderator in the group would be such a person. Influence on members in: moderation of thoughts, prosecution, law enforcement, social charisma. Who shares such qualities? James R., I would assume, but it can very well be Stryder as well. Why not PlazmaInferno? because Plazma tends to stay on the quiet side.
Me. Myself and I often claim to have the most important opinion, but to me there is no doubt that when it comes to gorgeous grandiosity, blathering bombast and pretentious pomposity, it's definitely "me time". Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Everyones opinion, except the Woo Woo's , are always viewed by myself and I thank everyone, except you Woo Woo's , for your interesting and sometimes factual input.
The poll really needs another option, whilst I could consider some peoples opinions equal, even to my own, not everyones opinions are equal.
You left out an option. We could, for example, group posters into groups of less or greater importance, which would make some more important than others while at the same time making no single opinion the most important.
Define 'important'. Important to who and in what way? You? The Sciforums in general? The world at large? In what area of Sciforums? I don't think anyone's opinion is more or less 'important' then the next person's. Maybe more meaningful based on the topic. More thought out. More engaging or interesting. Whatever. An opinion is an opinion. I have yet to to speak to anyone in this forum who I though "gee, their opinion is the most important opinion ever!".
deference to and prevalence of any given opinion decides its import nuts worth is determined by the quantity of factual info referenced by said opinion
The one that can get me to change mine. Cos that's not easy at all. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! There are at least three people here like that who force me to reassess my thoughts about what I think and why, but I'm not naming names.
I can see how respect for other's opinions as well as conveying one's own opinion in a respectful way is an important quality, but I don't see how that decides how it is the most important. Important to what? Says who? What if the topic of discussion is not one that is grounded in facts alone? Again, factual info. might make an opinion worthy of respect and considerated of high importance when it comes to supporting a logical argument or discussion, but does not determine that said opinion is the most important. How does anyone decide which person's opinion is ultimately the most important? It is all relative.
My opinion is the most important to me, because it actually effects(rather than affects) the things I do. That's not to say that my opinion has the most quality though.
My opinion: There is no spoon. Seriously though, All opinions, unless poorly formed and expressed, are of equal value.
Until the truth is established all opinions are equally important, with exception of those that can be disproved immediately.
