The Borg would easily destroy a Star Destroyer, the only reason the Borg were destroyed at all in the series was because it wouldn't make much of a show seeing a few hundred million drones go about their business.

As for V'ger vs anything in ST or SW V'ger would win.... I don't know why Persol said 'unless they happen to own a whale' because V'ger had nothing to do with whales as far as I remember.. I think you mean the Ceteacen probe :P

A WhiteStar could do hardcore damage to a Starfleet vessel - so ST is screwed if B5 ever came around.

just about any of the non-human ships from babylon 5 would win, cause they're the only ones who's lasers etc shoot in a CONTINOUS burst instead of the cliche'd burst fire mode. specially the spider ships of the shadow :)

One decisive difference I've noticed between star trek and star wars ships is that whereas the star trek weapons are targeted and fired via computer, the star wars weapons(for example the millenium falcons) are fired manually and resemble present day anti-aircraft guns.

Aside from the obvious targetting advantages of computer targetting, the ability to change the frequency of both their shields and phasers would give star trek ships the ability to shoot through the shields of star wars ships while making their shields impenetrable

This whole stupid sw-vs-st debate that seems to rage on the net always ends up commin down to the phasers vs lasers, changing frequency crap....to point out what SHOULD be obvious...

1) Phaser = phased laser
2) laser = concentrated beam of light
3) it would be really really really dumb to assume that every weapons company made their lasers on the same frequency, hence a shield, to be effective would have to work against a RANGE of freqencies and would, as such, be JUST AS EFFECTIVE against phased frequency weapons, hence st would NOT own sw based on that dumbarse premise
4) shields vs lasers is a silly concept anyway, cause to be effective, as already stated, would require blocking out as many light wave ranges as possible, thus rendering the ship with the shields visually blind ( yeah yeah you'd still have radar etc, but seein stuff is what ppl are used to )
5) trek would lose against the forces of pretty much every other sf show ever made for the simple reason that none of em seem to have anything other than cruiser class ships ( no shuttles dont count ), fitted with a few big, slow firing phasers which they have to *lock co-ordinates* into, thus slowing down the whole process even more. The only other weapon they have are realllllllly slow moving torpedoes. Why is this such a big deal? ONE WORD! FIGHTERS! thats right...none of the fools in st have ANY sort of fighter defence and as such would get wasted by a small squad of SMACS....and the fighter defenses of the larger ships from other SF shows would easily take out the photon torpedoes...hell the damn things go so slow a kid with a slingshot could take em out! :P

6) their shows, so who REALLY cares? as stated at the start, im just posting this outta boredom

7) the only 2 ships that would REALLY have any chance of being the uberist are the silly spinning and shooting in all directions ship from 'the last starfighter' or the one that looks like a moose head from "battle beyond the stars"
