It is unlikely to have been Sidious, since Sidious seems to have taken on Anakin only because Anakin happened along. I do not think he has a mater plan fo Anakin to kill Tyrannus, I think (like the death of Darth Maul) it just happened. Sidious stayed close to Anakin as a contingency only, and that contingency is the one that played out. I am not sure we know enough about Plageuis to determine whether he is the baby daddy.

I assume that Darth Sidious killed him at his weakest strength -- in other words, Darth Pleigus the Wise was killed only when he had lost his powers. Darth Sidious was very much a coward. Look at how he attempted to flee Yoda in the battle in episode three, after flouting how powerful he was supposed to be.
Sidious said Darth Plageuis was powerful enough to influence the midichlorians to create life; therefore I think Plageius influenced the birth of Anakin, perhaps to be a "perfect Sith"
we only know what sidious told anakin about plagerius, who knows how he actually died, how powerful he was and whether he actually existed at all!!! Unless sidious the lord of the darkside is to be belived that is?!??????!!!! plagerius himself could have been a lie so as to fool alankin into thinking that if he learnt the ways of the darkside he will be able to save padme.
