If it was habitable, I'd like to own and live on Olympus Mons.

Personally, I'd prefer earth. You know, with the air... and the water... and the whole "being habitable" thing going for it.

Sorry, couldn't help it. Out of the choices you provided, Mars is the most habitable, so I'd go with that. Still, just to be difficult, my vote on the poll was "other", meaning Earth.

Venus and mars are currently the only two planets we could remotely think of making the surface habital.

However Venus rotates too slow to have a decent magentosphere, necessary to trap dangerous cosmic radiation.
Mars is receives less radiation due to it's distance and while it's magnetosphere is 5000 times weaker than the earth, I think that combined it would be enough.

Also it seems more feasible to boost the greenhouse effect on mars than to reverse the greenhouse on venus.

    Mars it is

Ganymede, the third Galilean moon, and largest moon in the Solar System.

(I read Farmer in the Sky by Robert H. Heinlein recently.)

I know Ganymede isn't a planet, but you cannot deny the fact that it is extremely planet-like. Ganymede is larger than the planet Mercury. Ganymede is the only moon known to possess a magnetosphere, which shields the moon from the magnetic influence of its giant parent body, Jupiter.

I read a cool plan to heat up Ganymede with orbiting mirrors and build floating cities. Much of Ganymede's surface is ice(water), so if the planet was heated, there would be a huge ocean on the surface.

Jupiter would always be present in the sky. You would have a solar (Or would it be lunar?) eclipse every single day. (One day on Ganymede is the equvilant of seven terran days.)

I put "other", because I'd really prefer to live on a spaceship (if earth is unacceptable).

Why go through so much trouble of making a planet habitable when you could just construct your own spaceship? (maybe a few hundred years later...)

Furthermore, how can you possibly live in gas??? Some people said that they'd prefer to live on Saturn or Jupiter or the other gas giants... these planets are made of mainly gas! Unless you can fly, I don't know how that's possible.

What in gods name are you talking about, man? You never mentioned anything about searching for life! Shall I assume scientists are searching for life on Pluto? They're sure to find it there! What with all the...frozen nitrogen...it's a prime candidate for intelligent life!

Not to mention Europa (one of Jupiter's moons)... probably one of the most likely places to find life in the Solar System!

Hasn't someone filed for ownership of some of the planets?
Which means you would have to pay rent and tax!

I wonder who owns the universe?

What are the seasons like on uranus?
