i'd say. it depends on circumstance and what mood yer in. sometimes to realiate with te wrong sort can get you seriously maimed or even killed..........so you have to learn to gaug situations. sometimes its good to give as good, other times ignore, other timesreason, etc. it depends....als laufghin's good. it can diffuse. and saying surreal things which has other go 'uggh what...??' scratcheshead

but in real life thats different, in my area if somebody insults you it means they want to do more than hurt your feelings, :) it usually means theres going to be a fight. so i wont insult them bck i will just say something like "so are you challenging me" and usually i will stand there and wait for them to do something and if they attack, i dissable them and continue on my day, (usual outcome sometimes it varies and gets a little ugly)


anywas insulting somebody back achieves nothing, but if there is going to be violence, then actions need to speak up, actions speak louder than words, but words can defuse a situation also, choose your words and choose your actions. i retaliate to actions i dont start them,

but if somebody is approaching me and i fear for my life, ie they have a weapon, i will strike them first (never turn your back on a armed aggressor if they are very close, its dangerous the back can be easily damaged and has no protection,) i always carry a weapon so if ana rmed person is approaching me, i will take him out.

There are two possibilites: the individual stabs you, in which case you have died for your principles - not a bad death as deaths go. Or, faced with such bizarre behaviour the assailant gives up, fires off a further 'biting insult' and leaves. To date I have found the latter to be the case. I shall be unable to report back if I encounter an example of the former.[I suspect that since they cannot imagine anyone standing up in that way unless they had some 'secret weapon' they are actually backing down in the face of imagined power. But that is just my provisional hypothesis for observed behaviour.]

Today I saw someone online that I know is in highschool, so I say "Get to school you truent," and they reply "I have vacation you moron."

To me, that is a completly unreasonable reply, how does it make me a moron not knowing when highschool vacation is?

So, it is perfectly reasonable for you to accuse someone of truancy, but not acceptable for them to call you a moron in response. Truancy is a punishable offence, being a moron isn't.
So, you accused them of something substantive, they retorted with a simple insult.

You accused them of being a truant (notice it isn't truent - were you perhaps a truant when you should have been at school?) without considering the alternatives: vacation; illness; home study period; death in the family. I don't think that identifies you as a moron, but it suggests you are one sandwich short of a picnic.
You see it wasn't not knowing when highschool vacations are, it was failing to take that possibility into account that suggests stupidity.

I would do awful Things to the Person if the insult was terribly bad. I would torture them beyond belief!! I would pummel Places they didn't know they had! . AND THEN!......... I would snap out of that day dream and Think "Wow, That person was RUDE, Was He/she being honest with the rudeness? Is there a Part of me I need to address? And From there I would go home an Pout it out over a hot cup of coffee :) .......and be Bumed.... and try to find an excuse as to why that just happend.... Wow.. I AM a wus...

Friends sometimes insult me in jest.. but I don't think I've been insulted directly to my face since junior high, 'cept maybe by the parents.
