View Full Version : What would be a solution?

I'm having a tiny bit of confusion right now. Reading back through many threads on the current state of the Mid East I have come across a couple of opposing views.

A bunch of non-Jew/Moslems here state that Israel is their side of choice and that the Israeli government has the right to protect itself and that Jews lay as much claim to the land as Moslems. A bunch of Moslems (and some non-Moslems) have stated that Israel holds no more berring on the land than Indians have on U.S. But the only given solution I've seen by a Moslem is that the Jews be forced to remove their armies from occupied terretories and give back the land they won in the war.

Here's my first problem with this solution. If I challenge you to a fight for $20 and you win, do I have the right to demand my $20 back? Keeping in mind that if I had won your $20 I would have laughed if you asked for it back. I don't think Israel should have to give back any of the land it fairly won in a war it didn't start. I think it should. But I don't think it should have to. Certainly, the Moslem nations would not have given back Israel to the Jews had they won the war.

My second problem is that this 'solution' is not a solution. Israel offered something close to it about 4 months ago and the reply from Palestinian authority was this offer; All the occupied territories left alone, all won land given back, and a shit load of Palestinian immigrants allowed into the land. I don't remember the exact number, but that 'shit load' of Palestinian immigrants would have succesfully made Israel hold a minority of Jews. Next election time a Palestinian leader would be voted in (guess who, I'll give you one guess) and Israel would no longer be Israel. Completely a guess from here on in (as I obviously have little proof to back this up), but I would think following the de-Jewishizing of Palestine the Palestinians would start getting rid of Jews in the area.

I fail to see how this is a solution. Basically what the offer from Palestians right now is; Move out of Israel, give it to us for free and we won't suicide bomb you.

Any Americans/Brits/Canucks/Ausies/French/Dutch... here, picture your nation in the same predicament. Someone says; We're going to bomb your civilians until you give us absolutely everything. Would you consider it a peaceful offer?

So. Does a peaceful solution exist? From someone more knowledgable than myself on the situation; what would the Palestinians accept? And how do you know this? And if they would accept anything less than the offer I stated earlier, why would they even bother demanding the original demands? And why should Israel have to give back the land it won in the war?

If you are my younger step brother and you challanged me to a fight for $20 and I win because I am bigger, you may think you lost the money on a fair fight but our parents are going to ask me to give you the money back. It is as simple as that - no matter how much philosophical discussion you want to do. Until we grow up and learn to live with each other, our parents and our society will dictate how we behave in the society.

Now, if you want to leave the planet....that is a whole different thread....in pseudoscience....:D

So. Does a peaceful solution exist?

YES...somewhere in this forum I presented it, Captain Canada agreed. All we have to do is sign the papers. But as long as the step brothers throw tantrums...the effects are not pleasant....

How about if we're two grown men. And the smaller man challenges the larger man to the fight for $20. And the larger man wins. Who's going to rightfully demand the money be handed back?

The size doesn't matter to me. If a small man wants to fuck themselves over, they should be prepared to suffer the consequences. I hope we have enough respect for Moslems to consider them of higher intelligence than a little kid.

Excellent. Makes me happy!

I have to agree with Tyler.

Basically, the Palestinians screwed themselves over, but Israel should give them a country out of Virtue.

Israel was EXPECTED to loose it's war of independence. The UN just sat by, and did nothing, and continue their anti-Israel stance. I should use their 1975 resolution as an example. In it, they equated zionism to racism. Pretty Noble.....

But I know of a solution.
First things first. Palestinians have to reform a government. They get plenty of foreign money already. Palestinians sure as hell can afford a government that takes responsibility for the people. I know any government could not control terrorists, but a reformed one would stop terrorists from operating on Palestinian inhabited land.

Israel should give the Palestinians land on which palestinians live, and the majorly disputed territory, the old city in jerusalem, should be equally goverened by democratically appointed officials from both Palestinian, and Israeli sides. It would not be considred Israel or Palestine, but sovereign world heritage site. I think I go this one off of CNN, or something. Any Palestinian Demands that the Israeli's dont want to even talk about, like flooding Israel with non-Jews, and them assimilating us out, would just be ignored.

So, why dont the Palestinians get a new government so they can get a country??

A:: Senile ole arafat is too selfish to get off his throne. HE wants to liberate Palestinians --Remember Munich. We can't deal with a guy like him.

Every Israeli says that....but I have not heard a name or a group of names to create a provisional government at Palestine....

Why?
