Eight years of standing by while Clinton appeased the corporations that now threaten to enslave us. Fell on his sword in 2000.

How would a President Gore change the world?

How would he compare to, say, a President Wellstone (work with me), Hartmann or RFK, Jr., for example.
How would a Pres. Gore stop the advance of the multinationals?
How would Pres. Gore deal with the Bush Crime Family (if you don't know what I mean, stay out of this thread).
How would Pres. Gore get our national wealth back?
What would Pres. Gore do with the Blackwater, Caci etc. private armies on our soil?
How would Pres. Gore control the rabid Petro-nazis?
What would Pres. Gore do about China?
How would a Pres. Gore deal with the army of Neo-Cons, overt and covert, that infect the Pentagon, the intelligence community, the law enforcement community, the military and in government so as to head-off a fascist revolution and prevent it's future growth?
How would a Pres. Gore deal with the massive wealth and power of the charasmatic fundie cults?
Would a Pres. Gore prosecute the repukes for their crimes?
Would a Pres. Gore make the corporations pay their fair share of taxes, and require them to deal with ALL of their waste and polution, instead of making the people pay for the cleanup?
Would a Pres. Gore obtain and secure (not ask, not bargain for) the Presidential papers of Reagan, Bush, Clinton & Bush now being illegally secreted by the Bush Crime Family?

Just how different would a Gore Presidency be? Would he stick to true values or be a sellout for major corporations and big businesses?

What drivel. Gore is a spineless chump, who, after loosing the election, went off and grew a beard and hid from the public for a very long time.

If he had been half the man some think he is, he would have stayed in the front-center, consolidated his support (which was considerable , remember?) and made a second run for office.

Your unwillingness to allow those who don't hold your near obsessively anti-Bush views from discussing points towards this conversation being an utterly fruitless endeavour.

Do not forget that even Al Gore's home state of Tennessee voted for Bush. Let's take the hint from the home folks. Al Gore was, is and will always be useless.

Don't forget that the majority of americans voted for gore. And don't forget that Jeb Bush was the governor of Florida and stopped cold the recounts when there was overwhelming evidence Gore won Florida...

Once again my point in that first sentence. (Which you haven't addressed yet.) With that much support, why did he turn tail and hide from the public like a rejected teenager? Anyone with any moral fibre would have taken that tremendous base of supporters and worked hard to win the next time around!

Private armies LOL. I guess those old security guards at the mall are an army too! Watch out for them!

And has far as "true values": Whos?? YOURS? My true values are much different from yours. Maybe he would stick to Ted K values of getting drunk and killing his girlfriend in a car wreck

A lump of clay could have been the beloved hero president after 9-11. That would have bee good for Gore because he pretty much was a lump of clay which is better than being a lying sack of shit like Bush.

Now if Gore stopped 9-11 he could not have benefited from it and the Republicans would try to impeach him for the crime of being president without being a Republican.

Gore would not make waves. He would challenge the corporate rule of America. But Gore would not have followed a the reckless wing of the Neocon's foreign policy. Gore would not have kept spent so much more than he taxed so the national debt would have been lower.

Gore would not have put as many people like Michael Brown of FEMA in positions of responsibility. The level of corruption would have been lower under Gore. And our new chief Justice would not be completely insensitive to the needs of ordinary people.

Heh, those companies ARE private armies. All ex-special forces and are the ones fighting in Iraq, better equipped than SWAT teams or the Army. Hell, they even have Little Bird attack choppers (those small helis shown in Black Hawk Down with the insane miniguns).

As far as what Gore would have done about all of the above, I doubt he'd do much. The people mentioned in those questions and corporations are just too damned powerful to touch. They have ties to all our leaders up and down the chain. If any serious actions were to be taken against all of them, I can't imagine the chaos that'd be caused from it.

A proven falsehood. Independent recounts done by news organizations (who are decidedly liberal) clearly showed Bush the winner, even when they counted the "none votes". Of course you did not hear of this because the news organizations did not want to dispoil the myth that those like you believe. Jeb Bush did nothing to stop any recounts. Florida law required local election officials to certify their votes by a certain date. When that date was arbitrarily changed by the Florida Supreme Court not the Florida Legislature, the US Supreme Court struck down the Florida Supreme Court's ruling because they had no authority to change the lawful requirements of certification.
And NEVER forget that local election officials are elected by local people and that the problems were all from DEMOCRAT controlled election areas. In fact, the same problems with the old farts in those areas who couldn't read a ballot appeared in the 1996 election, however since Clinton won Florida the Democrats didn't care about those problems. They did, however, keep it in mind as a complaint strategy in case they lost Florida in 2000. And that is exactly what they did.

Gore respected the law even if the Supreme Court didn't.

Kindly explain which law you are talking about? Florida election law? The then Secretary of State for the State of Florida, Katherine Harris, followed the law and required the certification of votes from the local election officials by the date required.
The Florida Supreme Court tried to change the law, without any authority I must add, and that decision was struck down by the US Supreme Court. I will remind you once again, that the only places that had election problems were in the areas run by the Democrats. These areas had the same problems in 1996 but nobody cared because Clinton won Florida. So, either the Democrats had a strategy to capitalize on a know problem, or they just naturally screw things up like they always do. I am torn between which one is more obvious.

Just typical left wing bullshit. When Gore lost, the Democrats started a hysteria of "stealing an election" by wanting to change what constituted a legal ballot. The even wanted an official to "figure out" what the voter meant! This was a planned strategy in the event Florida went to Bush. The Democrats wanted to sow the seeds of something suspicious from the gitgo. Funny how the same George Bush easily swept Florida only 4 years later. The Democrats tried the same tactics in Ohio this past election. Take a close state and see if you can convince people that Bush stole the election there also. It's always about stealing an election, never about realizing the majority of voters do not want the Democrats anymore.

and that other 40% saved my ass and paid my rent bill when I was broke. Thank you Bush. Your tax cut kept a roof over my head.

Interesting to note that Bush paid MORE Taxes than Gore, even though Gore made more money.....
