To me it seems clear it must be Iraq court. The US can best create the outcome that way. International court is not an option if only because that court threatens to curtail the US’s flouting of the Geneva Conventions.

Bush has said the Iraqi's will hold it, which means the US appointed IGC will likely be organizing it with the help of the US.

Oh, no. I'm betting that this trial will either take place shortly before the election of during it, a timely reminder of what may very well be Bush's non-fictional accomplishment. It will also serve to keep bad news on other fronts out of people's minds...
in the months leading up to the election, stories about the economy, daily deaths of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, specific US corporations with ties to the administration being allowed to overcharge for services, will all appear in the back pages if at all, while the front page has continuing coverage of Saddam's being brought to justice by Bush.

Any embarrassing statements made by Saddam can easily be written off as an evil man trying to pin the blame on his enemies.

now i don´t think it will be that easy ....
saddam is very clever , he had a plan in mind when he was captured ; i guess otherwise he would have killed himself !
i really hope he takes bush down in the mud ;)

Hmmmm I think the US will decide which venue will host Saddam's trial (http://www.hrw.org/editorials/2003/iraq121503.htm).

Despite the obvious merits of an internationally led tribunal,Washington is adamantly opposed, which largely explains the path chosen by the Iraqi Governing Council. But Washington's opposition reflects its ideology, not concern for the Iraqi people. The Bush administration calculates that a tribunal of Iraqis selected by its hand-picked Governing Council will be less likely to reveal embarrassing aspects of Washington's past support for Saddam Hussein, more likely to impose the death penalty despite broad international condemnation, and, most important, less likely to enhance even indirectly the legitimacy of the detested International Criminal Court.

it´s so disgusting .... america gives saddam to iraqi courts , to be sure that saddam dies ( but without the international backlash ; they´ll say " so are iraqi laws" )

Remember a few months back, Rummy was all bent out of shape when the Iraqi's filmed American POW's? Declaring Geneva Convention crap and then turning around and showing Saddam on T.V. The hypocrisy!

Anyway, I feel Saddam should be tried by the Iraqi's. They will sentence him to death. Better them than the U.S.

I would see the trial taking place in Kurdistan...oh my! No but seriously the UN said that Iraq basically has no justice system to begin with. One can hope for a trial with the ICC, or the Hague. But in the reality we will have a hague-esqe lie of a trial in the middle of Baghdad.
