Why arent there more interesting topics other than people opening topics for obvious reasons? This section used to be so much more lively and interesting Baron Max 10-26-05, 01:12 PM If you think that there are "more interesting topics", then post some of them! What's wrong with the "World Events" forum? well, it's YOU! Get to work, dammit. Hey, post the new "speech" by the new leader of Iran ...he says, with much anger and venom, that Israel must be wiped off the face of the Earth. ...and Iran wants nukes? And many people think we, the western world, should permit it???? Isn't that like giving guns to rabid murderers and psychopaths??? Ooooh. Baron Max Asguard 10-28-05, 12:07 AM you talking about iran or bush s0meguy 10-28-05, 11:59 AM I wonder where members like strokes pennwalt and undecided are (are they still active on these boards?). I remember reading this section with interest; Now it's just racist and anti-racist statements and "the west is so evil" or "muslims are so evil" or: "was the moon landing fake?". I confess to have participated in this too for a while but I've realised that these conversations have little intellectual value so I'll stop wasting my time. Baron Max 10-28-05, 12:25 PM I confess to have participated in this too for a while but I've realised that these conversations have little intellectual value so I'll stop wasting my time. Yeah, unless it's fun. The problem here is not much different from conversations in the real world where you can just walk away from ...or more to the point, you wouldn't hang out with some of the particular people who post here. Intellectual value? ...LOL! No, surely not. But sometimes some of the posts are fun, if somewhat silly. Baron Max loki_ghost 10-28-05, 05:28 PM mother earth is stabilising / recovering from what humanity stole from her. politics will be healthier in the future. world leaders realise it is a sick game. economy based on fair trade is the solution. does ''democracy'' exist? spidergoat 10-28-05, 05:47 PM o....k I think it's blogs. The political blogs are doing a better job at revealing all the details of current events. Baron Max 10-28-05, 06:31 PM I think it's blogs. The political blogs are doing a better job at revealing all the details of current events. Sure ....and slanting their articles to further their OWN agendas! One blog says "Yes, ....", the next one says, "No, ..." And we're left to figure it all out, and usually without any reliable facts with which to do so. Therefor, I question your use of the term "revealing all the details". Baron Max spidergoat 10-28-05, 06:34 PM But that's what people like. Does the sciforums political section do any better? Overdose 10-28-05, 06:39 PM I mean so many interesting things are happening all around the world but we have to read "mostly" racist things here. I am tired of reading "muslems suck, christians suck..bla bla". It used to be so much more active and interesting here. Why is a topic like "The Moonlanding" on World Events? The mods used to move these kind of topics which dont have anything to do with current events. I want the old sciforum back Baron Max 10-28-05, 06:41 PM But that's what people like. No, I don't think that's what people "like" ...I think they've been "sensationalized" into accepting such bullshit as "news" or "facts". And worse, I think such conflicting blogs (as well as conflicting news stories) does nothing but make people apathetic. They, the people, can't turn to anything or anyone for anything that even resembles "facts" .....they're fed bullshit and sensationalism every day of the week by what we laughingly call "journalists". Does the sciforums political section do any better? Hmm, that's questionable, of course, but at least there is or usually is some form of "discussion" whereby varying views might be presented. The problem with a place like sciforums is that there's not indication of the poster's knowledge and/or factual info. So, once again, it's just conflicting bullshit and we're all left not know shit or, worse, knowing less than we knew when we logged on! ...LOL! When I was young, I knew every-fuckin'-thing .....but now that I'm old, I know even less now than I did yesterday. Pretty soon, perhaps right before I die, I'll know absolutely nothing about anything. :) Baron Max spidergoat 10-28-05, 06:41 PM I think we lost some members during that outage. Where's Tiassa? Overdose 11-03-05, 05:03 PM Damn..look at the topics! People just open up topics now and dont even bother saying anything about it and just give the link. Where is the admin of this site?!
