View Full Version : What's on your To Do Before You Die list?
Give us some highlights.
Some of mine:
Climb Mt. Rainier (probably nix since I’m a dad now)
Drive aimlessly around the U.S. (some of that come April)
Be in a hurricane (I like freaky weather)
I more or less did all my things to die before death stuff :)

Purchase a Huey Helicopter Gunship
Fail to claim insurance on Helicopter Gunship because of lack of flying lessons
Visit the following countries - Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Russia and Wales
See at least one Detroit Red Wings game and at least one Toronto Maple Leafs game....if they both play each other, sweet

why not put.....fail to claim insurance to fly helicopter gunship, but fly it anyway???
fly to all those countrys in your 'helicopter gunship' any one who gets in your way...move them.....and land on the toronto maple leaf stadium (i cant remember name of stadium) and hold a person to ransom using your'helicopter gunship' untill some one gives you a free ticket to the game?????
Sweet idea!!
You do know it'll cost extra to have twin M60's put in PLUS ammo!!
And I have to hire a pilot as I'm gonna want to be at the guns holding everyone ransom

Well ….I really must find the time to do the list!
Really!!
:)
Rather, meet some of my favourite authors, namely the old ones, before they die.
goofyfish 01-21-03, 06:57 AM Visit the temples of Angkor in Cambodia.
Places SciForums members would like to visit (04/02). (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=7062)

Be a bummer though to talk to people there only to have them walk through us. Or run away screaming.

hmmm life goal? it's overrated dude :)
Redoubtable 01-21-03, 05:11 PM I relish the thought of nuking Jesus whenever he maniffests on the material plane for a second time. He'll appear in a resplendent aura of ethereal radiance, glory, puissance, and dominion over all the expansive cosmos. Then, abruptly, he'll be vaporized in a volatile blast of radiation and debris.
Of course, he'll reappear instantaneously, being an immutable and resilient apparition of the spiritual world.
It would be a quaint sort of absurd and offensive practical joke. I am inclined to believe he'd laugh just as much as I would. :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :D

I like this idea... just for a good laugh
notme2000 01-23-03, 03:33 PM I've actually been meaning to print out a list and carry it with me in my wallet.
1. Sky-dive
2. Cross Canada with my bestest of best friends
3. Sit on a beach in some tropic place and watch the sun-set
4. Start my own small business (coffee shop or something) and make a small profit and lots of friends
5. Die with a smile on my face
Live
Leave something behind that will change our world....or distroy it in the process
Redoubtable 01-23-03, 04:02 PM LIVE? What sort of response is that? I don't intend for you to take umbrage at this . . . but are you on crack?
Tallguy 01-23-03, 04:08 PM like dinosaurs. leave dinosaurs. then there will be another astroid and it will be bigger and better..... i think thats a good way for the earth to go cuz dinos were here first and they didn't make it hard for other animals to live, they just ate them.
oh, oh, my list. here it is.
i wanna visit mars personally
i wanna fly in the plane (but not die there. if somebody held a boxknife to me i would do a jujitsu punch and then run away with his boxknife and exit the plane via a parachute.
write a rock/alternative song about the earth exploding and everybody dies. no, no just the stupid people like in the bible giants died. am i a stupid people? *oh well* no, im not cuz the earth would explode when i was visiting mars and i would be okay. The end.
%BlueSoulRobot% 01-23-03, 05:18 PM a) Drink a lot of water, and get executed by guillotine (sp). PWHOOSH! muahahaha!
b) Reach some type of self-satisfying enlightenment. I don't want to die the way I arrived: wet, cold, and terrified.
c) Use some type of large, heavy-duty projectile weapon.
d) Try virtual reality.
justiceusa 01-23-03, 08:38 PM On the serious side I would like to see the great pyramids of Egypt............On the light side I would like to lock Martha Stewart in a small room for a month feeding her only chili dogs. At the end of the month I would lock Richard Simmons in the room with her.
ralph nader 01-23-03, 10:51 PM dunk my dik in some cheeze whiz!
NightFall 01-24-03, 12:19 AM 1. Finally make it to mardi gras
2. open my night club
3. have more money than i could possible know what to do with
4. own a dog
5. choreograph a music video and/or take my girls to nationals.
6. Walk down the red carpet. (on purpose).
7. visit scotland.
8. get married. atleast once.
The top of the list is live long enough to have in hand a way to not die, be that mind uploading, nanotech, or other transhumanist type goal.
I'd also like to visit Mars and the Moon.
Live to see the confirmation of life elsewhere, intelligent or not.
See the Earth in all her glory from above.
A more terrestrial goal, see many places around the world to get a less US centered point of view.
See the development of first good AI, then the birth of true machine intelligence.
Live long enough to see mankind evolve into a type II civilization, one that is not bounded to the Earth, and guarantees its continuation in some form.
I guess most of my goals are more observational of our progress than myself...
