The year 2003 was great. The end to Matrix. The end to Lord of the Rings.

What, if anything, is there to look forward to? Not a whole lot.

I may be alone on this one, but I'm not holding much hope for Star Wars III. I think Lucas has sunk that ship already. Star wars used to hold the "best graphics fx" crown, but Lord of the Rings has taken that away as well.

Only other possible classics are the fourth Indiana Jones picture...and the rumored prequel to Lord of the Rings.

It's funny, but apart from three or four movies I don't remember much from 2003 cinemawise... seemed like the year of a few, really popular flicks.

The only part of that that makes me shutter is that it will probably make Orson Scott Card happy, and I cant stand the thought of that. Oh sure, enders game was good, but the guy is a prick. Just look at his website... uhg. So he can have his videogame, and his movie, and the subsequent merchandising, but I hope he goes back to writing those bible novelizations so I dont have to hear about him again.

Is there going to be an X-men 3? That would be cool. I was very impressed by the second one.

Ender's game was great, but I predict that the movie will be extremely awful. We saw what happens when a movie is made about a book that contains a lot of violence, but whose primary message and story is seperate from it, with starship troopers. The violence is increased, the story is ignored. I think Ender's game will be even worse than starship troopers.

its not even 100% enders game, its a hybrid Ender's Shadow/Game movie, enders shadow was ok, but it was so lame, it just wasnt the same caliber...something about how he wrote it made it seem really childish. ..

It isn't official but as we all know there will be one especially after the huge success ofthe first two. The script is in the works but it isn't confirmed yet. They have to finish off that awesome cliffhanger of the Pheonix.

James Bond movies....there's always one in the making

Whats Vin Diesel (SP?) working on, "the chronicals of Ridic" Last time I saw him on a talk show... its a spin off trilogy about his character in Pitch Black. But my question is, after that movie sucked so bad, and his character was so two dimentional, who the hell would want to make a spinoff of a steaming pile like that?

That doesn't sound that exciting to me... the third one might be okay if they did it right, but I wasn't a big fan of Pitch Black to begin with, so waiting to see it again sounds like a not-so-good use of your time.

Chronicles of Riddic, I liked Pitch Black in a brainless sci-fi kind of way so more of the same won't be all that bad.

Alien vs Predator, this one will most likely be hollywoodized to death, but there's alway hope.

Indy 4 of course.

Starcrap episode III, two and a half hours of video game cutscenes.

There's bound to be more I'm forgetting, and there are always out of nowhere movies like Equilibrium and others.

Edit: Oh yeah, then there's Batman 5 with Christian Bale as the caped marvel and Michael Caine as his trusty butler Alfred.

Alien invation, well sounds too much like Irag. An overpowered technological supercivilization attacking some backwood primitive humans...NAAA!!

Though I did like the E.T. Idea with the kids all grown up though, not to take over the planet but to bring hope, cures, an end to potential nuclear war. Overpowered by force for our own good!.

BTW, I always thougt they certainly come out with 5thElement sequel. Sad this has not happened yet.

The Aliens series was cool, though having one more would have to be considered as milking an old cow..

I do like travel in time movies, these are always cool. well it must be that is what i'm watching right now on scifi.

The next big hit will be Star Wars, we all should know that. Other than that my only idea is having a movie that depicts this:

The sun looses its magnetic pull, setting all of earth to drift out of space, we are 1000, of years more advanced than today, this action that the world has taken sets in motion a series of events that our futuristic civilization has to deal with!. That would be cool.

Hey, theres plenty, indeed a plethora, of scifi space opera, often involving omnipotech(tm) to be mined for stories. I have so much on my bookshelves I dont know where to start. Maybe a little Pohl, followed by some banks, with a segue into E E SMith's lensman series, that has to be made into a never ending series of movies.

I say give the job to Clive Owen. He was cool in his bit part as "The Professor" in The Bourne Identity and I like those BMW driver films.
