How come everybody who reads this says "Oh it changed my life!" and "It's soooo good!". What all the hype about? Is it that good!? Is it that fantastic!?

Although I have heard others say things like that after
reading it, I never said anything like that after reading
it (or any of the others). IMO - it was an ok book for its
time but nothing to write home about. No offense to
those who love the books. :)

I read this 5 or so years ago, so I do not remember much...

It didn't change my life. Some interesting ideas about 'energy' and such but pretty boring halfway through. Not too sure what all the hype was about.

OK That's what I figured. What was it about, a journey or something?

"THE CELESTINE PROPHECY contains secrets that are currently changing our world. Drawing on ancient wisdom, it tell you how to make connections among the events happening in your own life right now. . . and lets you see what is going to happen to you in the years to come! A book that has been passed from hand to hand, from friend to friend, since it first appeared in small bookshops across America. THE CELESTINE PROPHECY is a work that has come to light at a time when the world deeply needs to read its words. The story it tells is a gripping one of adventure and discovery, but it is also a guidebook that has the power to crystallize your perceptions of why you are where you are in life . . . and to direct your steps with a new energy and optimism as you head into tomorrow."

The tragedy of print is that a book is only as good as it's reader. You'll only hear the best about this book from (or any other for that matter) people into that topic. It's New Age, mystical, message could sound like gospel to others & trash to others, read it. To me it was a book like any other - someone had something to say & said it. Nothing more. How you react to it's message makes it a "good" or "bad" book;)
