What would you do if ultraconservatives like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson gained control of the government and the country and enforced a taliban style philosophy? I would form a resistence movement and take back the country.How would you deal with this situation?

In the unlikely situation there was a ultra right wing gov't with Falwell and Robertson as its leaders we'd have to start a revolution.

I'd coherse part of the military to go into D.C. and retake the gov't.

All that is well and good but coups are BAD. im from Australia so we probably hear more of this than say UK or USA (as we live vertually next to it) but their's a man called George Spaite (sorry for the spelling more than likely wrong) who is charged with treason in pupa newginey because he didn't like the goverment that was chosen so he thought he'd just go into parlament and take over himself. every other country refused to recognise any goverment with him in it and evenually the democratic goverment was reinstalled but my point is that if you get coups involved you go from a goverment you may not like to probablly a milatary dictatorship (a hell of a lot worse than anything i can think of)

You are thinking of George Speight who led a coup in Fiji.

Speight is of mixed indigenous Fijian and European descent. He led the coup after Fiji democratically elected its fiirst ethnic Indian Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudry.

Speight was recently tried for treason and sentenced to death but this was commuted to life imprisonment.

They both are TV preachers and quite conservative.

Pat Robinson seems to have Pres. Bush's ear.

Maybe not worse, but definitely, IMHO, more dangerous.
