hoping I am not posting some old news......

I can't think of a reason, but there are some indications the pentagon isn't hit by an airplane but something else, maybe a truck with explosives??

well, this seems very unlikely, but i want you to check out the next site, it is pretty convincing.......

I think the author of this page fails to take into consideration the strength of this building. It was designed to stand up to direct bombardment. Actually, when I look at the picture with the silhouette of the airliner superimposed upon it, I can clearly see where the wings hit the building. The must have folded back along the sides of the aircraft and been dragged along into the structure.

But, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, so I could have it all wrong. :bugeye:

    Peace.

What the author did not compare is the hit with the WTC. When the first plane hit WTC, it was coming at an angle to cause maximum damage. Even then, there was very little damage compared to the size of the building as shown in the closeup in CBS documentary. The main damage was due to the jetfuel burning inside the building alongside of natural gas, furniture, plastics and carpets. The WTC got destroyed on its own weight. If the sprinkers and halon would have worked properly, I think the towers would have still standing. The intense heat melted the steel and hence WTC lost its structural integrity.

On the otherhand, pentagon is designed in a honeycomb pattern with beefed up structural support, similar to the Empire State Building but more so. Even a cruise missile will have a tough time destroying it. The blast will dissipiate with the multi-layer design. A truck loaded with explosives like the Oklahoma bomb will only make a small dent.

Not all buildings are alike. Some are designed poorly, others are well designed...remember the California fire that burned down something like hundred rich homes except one that did not have a scratch on.
