As astrological signs are supposed to equate to 'types', it would be interesting to see what astrological types use these forums.

Gemini... the best one, and I'm modest ;)
I don't believe in astrology but gemini's definition corresponds to my behaviour.

I see Scorpios are leading by a tail, ahem.

I've known 2 of the stingers in my life, one was a woman, very much a chameleon, seemed very nice most of the time, then she got rid of her husband and completely dissasociated herself from her 15 year old son who was a very sweet slightly autistic boy, hasn't been in touch with him in 7 years and they live like 5 miles apart!

The other crusty, stingy thingy is a man and he seems fine and friendly most of the time, but he is such a control freak and when he's upset with something he won't give you the time of day. Interestingly, both their partner's were/are Cancers (emotional, sensitive, depressive, lying).

KEEP USING THE POLL, let's see what planets are ruling this joint:)

We have a majority of scorpios, now why is that?
Are scorpios generally out on the net more, or simply more interested in science?

I don't know about capricorns and scorpios, my mother is a scorpio and we certainly don't get along.
Yes, it's very troublesome when the sticks break and I quickly have to find other utensils.

I think the mother/daughter relationship is always a tempestuous one irrespective of starsign.

bhudmaash
05-24-03, 06:17 PM
gosh!!...well this is such a broad, far reaching dicussion, where to begin? each and every case must be analysed according to it's specific merits off course, your relationship with your mother cannot be the same as for instance the relationship between my sister and my mother, so it's really down to individual circumstances.
I will say however, that such statements are rather sweeping, and generalised, I'm sure that there are just as many very good mother/daughter relationships out there. The same could be said of the father /son relationship, that that is a very difficult one.

I hope u and your mum sort things out. They really do care about us, even though they don't always show it. I'm sure she would die for u.;)

Let me tell you about my mother...*grasps after breath*....
Well, she claims to be lesbian but have a secret stash of Kevin Costner and Jean-Claude Van Damme videos. She sais she can get whoever she wants into bed and she flirts with my boyfriend.
Probably mid-life crisis, but for how long? God, she's been acting horribly for as long as I've known her.
She talks to me as if I were retarded and interrupts everything , I mean EVERYthing I try to say.
When, on occasion, we are somewhere toghether, she insist on presenting me as her beauuutiful daughter, but doesn't even let me say "hello" to persons she introduces me to.
She just wants me to stand there as a cute dolly, as a staue of what she has produced, and I'm 33!
Did I mention that I want to strangle her? :o
Don't analyze this to death, it felt good to write anyway....*sigh of relief*

I understand.;)

I was 19 when my father suffered some sort of breakdown, due to loosing our family business, and our houses. He started drinking and as a result beat my mother horrifically for over a year. Eventually the police had to intervene and place my mother and sister (12 at the time) in a womens refuge, my parents 20 yr marraige was over. I was 19, and was living here and there because the refuge was only for women.
At this time I fell very ill, and thus had to forget about my education. My father declared bankrupcy very conveiniently meaning that he was saved from paying my mother a single penny, even though he emptied mine, my sisters and mothers personal savings for himself.

....phew that felt good too ...i suppose.

Bebelina, all I can say is it takes great wisdom, courage , patience, and humility to do the right thing, which is always the hardest thing...that's why I have no doubt that you'll do the right thing.;)

Bebelina

Well, I moved out some 15 years ago...but since August last year, I'm living in the same town as her again.
So we tend to run into eachother.

I didn't look as good when I was a kid, and she and my stepfather could actually make fun of my appearance in front of other people.

Bebelina
05-24-03, 06:50 PM
Bhudmaash, I'm sorry to hear that, my stepfather was an alcoholic too. So you think I should kill her then? :D
I have tried talking to her about how she treats me, and other people, but she has a spooky ability to block my every word out.
While I'm talking , she thinks that's just a pause for her to think out what she will say next.

My favourite word when dealing with such issues is magnanimous.
I think you should be magnanimous, thus proving ur wiser and above everyone else. No off course u shouldnt kill her. You'd be surprised at how much she is probably hurting. She actually needs your help, and she will come to realise that i'm sure. But for the meantime I think u should put some distance between u and your mum, that will be the best for both of you since it will help give both of u a clearer perspective

Im a virgo. But I AM creative in art, music, lit, etc! And I AM dark an mysterious too! Virgos are not as dry and boring and critical as those silly astrology books say!
Oh, ab parents, after a certain point you just shouldnt pay attention to them. To fully understand what I mean, look at my post in thread ab what would one do if the world was to end tomorrow (p.4).

Bhudmaash, Bebelina, I really empathise with you guys. That you continue to survive and still seem to be reasonably sane is truly a great achievement in light of the pricks you had to contend with. I salute you.

We've all got some bad parenting stories to tell I'm sure, but some are far worse than others, hearing about them helps to put things in perspective.

I'm a virgo too. I do think that virgos are very creative. I guess being born at end of summer, verge of automngives provides our personality with diversity. I never knew that astrology books said that virgos are dry and boring? When I was three year old, I could do a somersault, read romantic novels, play piano, and sing Mozart and Beethoven notes opera style in DO RE MI FA....My parents thoughts either she is a genius or crazy....Both are true....really.:D

My friend Keni was a Leo and he had fabulous, braided dreadlock-type hair, down to his waist. he usually kept it in a Rasta Wrap or a silk turban, Keni was eccentric.
