I like Linkin Parks Crawling in my skin and Numb.
Crawling in my skin:
Crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real
Numb: Chorus
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
become so tired
so much more aware
I'm becoming this
all I want to do
is be more like me
and be less like you
and Sugababes:
I'm caught up in the middle
Jumping through the riddle
I'm falling just a little tonight (uh uh)
Cos everybody's making trouble
Someone's burst their bubble
But we'll be getting by alright (uh uh uh)
Hehe Uh Uh Uh
If you want to listen to some New Zealand music use then try "The Feelers" songnames "Venus" and "Larger than Life" or/and Brooke Fraser songnames "Arithmetic" "Lifeline" "Better" or "Saving the World". Brookes prolly chick music but you might like it if your into mellow. Feelers are rocky.

Like the fool I am and I'll always be;
I've got a dream. I've got a dream.
They can change their minds, but they can't change me.
I've got a dream. I've got a dream.
I know I can share it if you want me to.
If you're going my way. I'll go with you.
I've Got A Name
by Jim Croce.
thedevilsreject 08-21-06, 04:59 PM there was already another failed thread like this in the arts forum
but:
This morning I made the call
The one that ends it all
Hanging up, I wanted to cry
Bu dammit, this well's gone dry
Not for the money, not for the fame
Not for the power, just no more games
But now I'm safe in the eye of the tornado
I can't replace the lies, that let a 1000 days go
No more living trapped inside
In her way I'll surely die
In the eye of the tornado, blow me away
tornado of souls by megadeth
Imagine if someone infiltrated most of the lyrics of all the mainstream artists in the last 5 years with their own lyrics because he held something over the world or he simply just asked and the artists were being nice cause he was really sick. What would you think?
would you mouth breathers stop posting threads about lyrics, please.
thank you.
Whats a mouth breather mean?
If my infiltration theory is correct then I reckon it deserves a lyrics thread.
mouth-breather n. a stupid person; a moron, dolt, imbecile. Related: English, Derogatory, Slang
Editorial Note: The original definition of mouth-breather referred to a person that, due to medical problems (usually with the sinuses or nose), was forced to breath via the mouth. This leaves the jaw hanging open at most times, which has a tendency to make a person look dopey or spacey.
The latest:
Psychostick - Beer
I like beer 'cos it is good
I drink beer because I should

I am drunk, drunk as me, I am drunk wheee
i am drunk, drunk as me, I am...
The part in the song where he says "uh dude.. I think youv'e had enough" and the response.. priceless. I have heard people tell that to me a lot. And I react the same way. THE END OF THE WORLD!
Cato's a goverment agent here to coverup the truth. (And amuse).

Would my theory count as conquest of the world and no one even knows?
thedevilsreject 08-22-06, 01:26 PM congrats, you have managed to derail your own thread
It'd be funny to see the thread starter keep going off topic while everyone else is always on topic.
Just thought you should know that the world has been conquested. I have no proof though. I can't get hold of the recordings that prove that all your lyrics from major artists are from the same person. I guess it doesn't count as world conquest if no one knows. Maybe in like 100 years when everyones dead and noone cares the truth will come out.
You know your right by nirvana
Paaiiinn paaiiinnn paaiiinnn.
I'm just curious but would he be hated or loved. Maybe it's like a live 8 thing and you don't know and there will be a big boom when you find out. You heard it here first?
He could walk around and not be famous and interact with many people who have no idea and then if he told people noone would believe him. It would be like telling people the worlds round when they are thinking its flat. I guess he'd get lots of insults and abuse and stuff and no-one would believe. But as long he was standing on the truth those sorta things would be would be icing on the cake cause as far as he's concerned he's telling the truth and it is the truth. He'd be crucified for telling.
Hell he could beg for 2 dollars and noone knowing who he was he wouldn't even get it.
and and and (sell sell sell)

Now this looks like a job for me
So everybody just follow me
Cause we need a little controversy
Cause it feels so empty without me.
My theory has teeth if you ask me. Hehe
Fraggle Rocker 08-22-06, 04:09 PM How beautiful it was: "tomorrow."
We'll never have a day of sorrow.
We've got through the 30's, though our belts are tight.
We've conceived of a future, with no hope in sight.
We've got decades ahead of us to get it right,
I swear.
Fifty years after the fair.
Aimee Mann: "Fifty Years after the Fair.
Her thoughts while walking through the ruins of the 1939 World's Fair in New York in 1989. The Gulf War hadn't even happened yet, much less 9/11.
I just love this song. My fav of his:
Bob Dylan - Masters of War
"Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks
You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly
Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain
You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do
Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead"

freak on a leash by korn
Something takes a part of me.
Something lost and never seen.
Every time I start to believe,
Something’s raped and taken from me... from me.
Lifes got to always be messing with me. (you wanna see the light)
Can’t they chill and let me be free? (so do I)
Can’t I take away all this pain. (you wanna see the light)
I try to every night, all in vain... in vain.
Sometimes I cannot take this place.
Sometimes its my life I cant taste.
Sometimes I cannot feel my face.
Youll never see me fall from grace
Something takes a part of me.
You and I were meant to be.
A cheap fuck for me to lay
Something takes a part of me.
Feeling like a freak on a leash. (you wanna see the light)
Feeling like I have no release. (so do I)
How many times have I felt diseased? (you wanna see the light)
Nothing in my life is free... is free
Sometimes I cannot take this place.
Sometimes its my life I cant taste.
Sometimes I cannot feel my face.
Youll never see me fall from grace
Something takes a part of me.
You and I were meant to be.
A cheap fuck for me to lay
Something takes a part of me.

and hero by nickleback
I am so high. I can hear heaven.
I am so high. I can hear heaven.
Oh but heaven, no heaven dont hear me.
And they say that a hero can save us.
Im not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.
Someone told me love will ALL save us.
But how can that be, look what love gave us.
A world full of killing, and blood-spilling
That world never came.
And they say that a hero can save us.
Im not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.
Now that the world isnt ending, its love that Im sending to you.
It isnt the love of a hero, and thats why I fear it wont do.
And they say that a hero can save us.
Im not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.
And they're watching us

Where are all the stupid people from?
And how'd they get to be so dumb?
Bred on purple mountain range
Feed amber waves of grains
To lesser human beings, zero feelings
Blame it on
Human nature, mans destiny (mans destiny)
Blame it on the greediocracy (greediocracy)
Fear of God
The fear of change
The fear of truth
Add the Bill of Rights, subtract the wrongs
There's no answers
Memorize and sing star spangled songs
When the questions
Aren't ever asked
Is anybody learning from the past?
We're living in united stagnation
Father what have I done?
I took that 22
A gift to me from you
To bed with me each night
Kept it clean
Polished it well
Cherished every cartridge, every shell
Down, by the creek, under brush, under dirt
There's a carcass of my second kill
Down, by the park, under stone, under pine
There's a carcass of my brother William
Brother where, have you gone to?
I swear, I never thought I could
I see so many times
They told me to shoot straight
Don't pull the trigger, squeeze
That will insure a kill
A kill is what you want
A kill is why we breed
The Christians love their guns
The church and NRA
Pray for their salvations
Prey on the lower faiths
The story book's been read
And every line believed
Curriculum's been set
Logic is a threat
Reason searched and seized
Jerry spent some time in Michigan
A twenty year vacation, after all he had a dime
A dime is worth a lot more in Detroit
A dime in California, a twenty dollar fine
Jerry only stayed a couple months
It's hard to enjoy yourself while bleeding out the ass
Asphyxiation is simple and fast
It beats seventeen fun years of being someones bitch
Don't think (Stay)
Drink your wine (Home)
Watch the fire burn (Be)
His problems not mine (Safe)
Just be that model citizen
I wish I had a schilling
(For each senseless killing)
For every senseless killing
I'd buy a government
America's for sale
And you can get a good deal on it
(A good deal on it)
And make a healthy profit
Or maybe, tear it apart
Start with assumption
That a million people are smart
Smarter than one
Serotonin's gone
She gave up, drifted away
Sara fled, thought process gone
She left her answering machine on
The greeting left spoken sincere
Messages no one will ever hear
Ten thousand messages a day
A million more transmissions lay
Victims of the laissez faire
Ten thousand voices, a hundred guns
A hundred decibels turns to one
One bullet, one empty head
Now with Serotonin gone
The man who used to speak
Performs a cute routine
Feel a little patronized
Don't feel bad
They found a way inside your head
And you feel a bit misled
It's not that they don't care, yeah
The television's put a thought inside your head
Llike a Barry Manilow, jingle
I'd like, to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
A symphonic blank stare, yeah
It doesn't make you care (make you care)
Not designed to make you care (make you care)
They're betting you won't care (you won't...)
Place a wager on your greed
A wager on your pride
Why try to beat them when, a million others tried?
We are the whore
Intellectually spayed
We are the queer
Dysfunctionally raised
One more pill to kill the pain
One more pill to kill the pain
One more pill to kill the pain
Living through conformity
One more prayer to keep me safe
One more prayer to keep us warm
One more prayer to keep us safe
There's gonna be a better place
Lost the battle, lost the war
Lost the things worth living for
Lost the will to win the fight
One more pill to kill the pain
Na na na na na
La na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na
The going get tough, the tough get debt
Don't pay attention, pay the rent
Next of kins pay for your sins
A little faith should keep us safe
Save us
The human, existence
Is failing, resistance
Essential, the future
Written off, the odds are
Astronomically against us
Only moron and genius
Would fight a losing battle
Against the super ego
When giving in is so damn comforting
And so we go, on with our lives
We know the truth, but prefer lies
Lies are simple, simple is bliss
Why go against tradition when we can
Admit defeat, live in decline
Be the victim of our own design
The status quo, built on suspect
Why would anyone stick out their neck?
Fellow members
Club "We've Got Ours"
I'd like to introduce you to our host
He's got his, and I've got mine
Meet the decline

We love our queen

this should be everyones favourite anthem
Fraggle Rocker 08-24-06, 05:38 PM I knew that wasn't an American song long before I got to the line about the shilling. We don't have the patience for such lengthy lyrics. It's been two generations since songs like "American Pie" and "El Paso" were in the Top Ten, and neither of them is anywhere near as long as this one.
Frankly, just as an editor and not a musician, I think it could really do with some concision.
Athelwulf 08-24-06, 06:17 PM I wouldn't say they're my absolute favorites (to force me to choose one is torture for me), but the three songs at the end of this post are fun to listen to for both their lyrics and their sound. The way the first makes me feel is really undescribable, but it's a very sober mood. The second, I find, is very catchy, not to mention that controversial lyrics are some of my favorites. And I just like the third one a lot.
The Mars Volta has some very whacked out lyrics, if anyone cares to listen to them. And I find that Arctic Monkeys has catchy lyrics which are well accentuated by their Yorkshire accent and regionalisms.
It used to be that I only listened to songs for the sound, and I couldn't have cared less about the words. Now, especially since I like to follow along with the words when I really get into the music, lyrics have gained a lot of importance for me.
"The Crystal Ship" by the Doors
Before you slip into unconsciousness
I'd like to have another kiss
Another flashing chance at bliss
Another kiss, another kiss
The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We'll meet again, we'll meet again
Oh tell me where your freedom lies
The streets are fields that never die
Deliver me from reasons why
You'd rather cry, I'd rather fly
The crystal ship is being filled
A thousand girls, a thousand thrills
A million ways to spend your time
When we get back, I'll drop a line
"Michael" by Franz Ferdinand
This is where I'll be, so heavenly
So come and dance with me Michael
So sexy, I'm sexy
So come and dance with me Michael
I'm all that you see, you wanna see
So come and dance with me Michael
So close now, so close now
So come and dance with me
So come and dance with me
So come and dance with me
Michael, you're the boy with all the leather hips
Sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky lips
Michael, you're the only one I ever want
Only one I ever want, only one I ever want
Beautiful boys on a beautiful dancefloor
Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore
Michael waiting on a silver platter now
And nothing matters now!
This is what I am, I am a man
So come and dance with me Michael
So strong now, it's strong now
So come and dance with me Michael
I'm all that you'll be, you'll ever see
So come and dance with me Michael
So close now, you're so close now
Come and dance with me
Come and dance with me
So come and dance with me
Michael, you're the boy with all the leather hips
Sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky lips
Michael, you're the only one I ever want
Only one I ever want, only one I ever want
Beautiful boys on a beautiful dancefloor
Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore
Michael waiting on a silver platter now
And nothing matters now!
Nothing matters now
Nothing matters now
And nothing matters now!

I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn back

I don't know how to love him, How to...
Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play.....
And she's buying a stairway to heaven....
Love..., Love can keep us together....
Fraggle Rocker 08-25-06, 10:55 AM The lyrics to "Stairway to Heaven" are a textbook illustration of why people called Progressive Rock "middlebrow." They make so little sense. The few points that are made are hammered at with a bludgeon. It drips with cliches and with vague throw-away elfin references calculated to appeal to the generation who lifted Tolkien from obscurity. The closing line is an anticlimactic in-joke of sophomoric word play.
Don't get me wrong, I love the song. It's probably my all-time favorite and I've sung it a hundred times. The whole package is magnificent, from the recorders in the intro through the heavy-metal jam to an ending that proudly is not scored "repeat and fade" like most rock songs. Silly as they are, the lyrics encapsulate the 1970s, the golden age of rock and roll and perhaps the golden age in my life. But they are unabashedly silly.
Compare them to "Hotel California," another song from the same era, in more or less the same genre, from another band of similar stature, that has also become a classic. This is a work of literature, true poetry. It is the story of California and its people. Starting with the long, ignominioius journey we all took down a "dark desert highway" just to get there. The homage to the Latinos who were there before us and who, symbolized by their ubiquitous missions, still shape our culture. "Welcome... There's plenty of room" in the state that still honors Emma Lazarus's invitation to the world's tired and poor on the Statue of Liberty. Then the 20th Century and Hollywood culture, with a far superior bit of word play in "she's got the Mercedes bends," the zenith of the hippie movement in "1969." A surprising percentage of California's people never travel further than Reno and Las Vegas: "We're all just prisoners here of our own device."
And that last line, "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave." As I sit here, 3,000 miles from home, feeling like an Earthman on an alien planet, that line resonates in my head several times a day.
Now those are some great lyrics.
its all a secret world conquest takeover gimme money. shh. secret. shhhh. and immortality.

Shakira - Timor Lyrics
Timor, Timor
Yale, Yale
East Timor, Timor
Timor, Timor
Timor, Timor
Going on and on and on and on
This is going on and on and on and on now
Said it once and say it twice
I want to save your time
Safety, safety
It's alright, it's alright
'Cause the system never fails
The good guys are in power
And the bad guys are in jail
It's alright, it's alright
Just as long as we can vote
We live in democracy
And that's what we promote
Isn't it? Isn't it?
Oooh...
Isn't it? Isn't it?
Oooh...
It's alright, it's alright
At least there's half the truth
Hearing what we want's
The secret of eternal youth
It's alright, it's alright,
The planet's split in three
'Cause I'll keep on selling records
And you've got your MTV
If we forget about 'em
Don't worry
If they forget about us
Then hurry
How about the people who don't matter anymore?
East Timor
Timor, Timor
Ooh
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah
It's alright, it's alright
We'll show all on TV
So we won't really know it
Just by watching ??
It's alright, it's alright
For a flag we die or kill
As long as we don't know it
Do it just to pay the bills
If we forget about 'em
Don't worry
If they forget about us
Then hurry
How about the people who don't matter anymore?
If we forget about 'em
Don't worry
If they forget about us
Then hurry
How about the people who don't matter anymore?
East Timor
Timor, Timor
Let's keep telling the world it's sunny
The risk of hides to make them bother
Now don't you find that funny?
If we forget about 'em
If they forget about us
Then hurry
How about those people who don't matter anymore?
If we forget about 'em
Don't worry
If they forget about us
Then hurry
How about those people who don't matter anymore?
East Timor
Timor, Timor
East Timor

ILBT's
by Joe Walsh and Joe Vatale
Used by permission
You see 'em on the street, left and right
I like big tits
I try to look away, but I can't resist
Every time, I try to call it quits
Here come some tits
Well they come in twos, so hard to choose
your favorite tit
I like tits for dinner, or a noon time snack
I like tits for lunch, a big tit attack
I like tits for breakfast, eggs benedict
They're where it's at ...tits
They give me shivers when they bounce around
puckered up or bangin on the ground
how 'bout those tits
This is by Joe Walsh. You know, the guy from the Eagles.
Fraggle Rocker 08-26-06, 04:24 PM Some of these songs completely lose their impact without the music. That's why they're songs and not just poems.

Just a reminder here to please take note of my lyrics infiltration theory on page one of this thread. You have been pre warned. You are the chosen and few.
My real theory is one of world domination. yawn
World domination for me would basically consist of owning a house and not having to work. Thing.

redarmy11 08-28-06, 07:18 AM Leave me alone, you're wasting time
You bastard, you're wasting time
Get out of my way, you're no friend of mine
You bastard, you're wasting time
My precious, precious time
Everybody's wasting my time.
Alternative TV: 'You Bastard'
An Architect’s Dream
Yes, I need to get that tone
A little bit lighter there
Maybe with some dark accents coming in from the side
Hmm, let’s go
Watching the painter painting,
And all the time, the light is changing
And he keeps painting
That bit there, it was an accident
But he’s so pleased
It’s the best mistake, he could make
And it’s my favourite piece
It’s just great
The flick of a wrist
Twisting down to the hips
So the lovers begin, with a kiss
In a tryst
It’s just a smudge
But what it becomes
In his hands
Curving and sweeping
Rising and reaching
I could feel what he was feeling
Watching the painter painting
Lines like these have got to be
An architect’s dream
It’s always the same
Whenever he works on a pavement
Watching the painter painting
It starts to rain
And all the time
The light is changing

Vaikimine oleks vale,
sunniks südant lõhkema.
Tahan õige tasa laulda,
tasa kannelt helista’.
Et ei sind, mu kõige kallim,
lauluga ma tülita.
Aga kui torm minu kandlelt
kostab siiski kõrvu sul’,
siis sa ise oled süüdi:
Miks nii armas oled mul’!

Deathfromabove 11-08-07, 07:57 PM For me it has to be The Strokes - Hard to explain
I say the right things but act the wrong way
I like it right here but I cannot stay
I watch the TV; forget what I'm told
Well, I am too young, and they are too old
Oh, man, can't you see I'm nervous, so please
Pretend to be nice, so I can be mean
I miss the last bus, we take the next train
I try but you see, it's hard to explain
shichimenshyo 11-08-07, 08:18 PM My favorite song verse of all time, gives me the chills
We weave a tale of our stark heroics,
swaying the public from our bully pulpits
Create illusions for imperial schemes
poor against the poor for democracy
While we rape that word with a swift incision
snatch up the poverty to fill up the prisons
boost economy with perpetual war
and everything you buy only feeds us more!
(so just keep buying...)

"OM"
The rain is on the roof
Hurry high butterfly
As clouds roll past my head
I know why the skys all cry
OM, OM, Heaven, OM
The Earth turns slowly round
Far away the distant sound
Is with us everyday
Can you hear what it say
OM, OM, Heaven, OM
The rain is on the roof
Hurry high butterfly
As clouds roll past my head
I know why the skys all cry
OM, OM, Heaven, OM

cosmictraveler 11-09-07, 08:04 AM The Dream by The Moody Blues
When the white eagle of the North
Is flying overhead
And the browns, reds and golds of autumn
Lie in the gutter, dead
Remember then, the summer birds
With wings of fire flaying
Come to witness Spring's new hope
Born of leaves decaying
Just as new life will come from death
Love will come at leisure
Love of love, love of life
And giving without measure
Gives in return a wondrous yearn
Of a promise almost seen
Live hand-in-hand
And together we'll stand
On the threshold of a dream....
lucifers angel 11-09-07, 08:33 AM Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
These's streets we traveled on will undergo our same lost past
I found you here, now please just stay for a while
I can move on with you around
I hand you my mortal life, but will it be forever?
I'll do anything for a smile, holding you 'til our time is done
We both know the day will come, but I don't want to leave you
I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
(a melody, a memory, or just one PICTURE)
Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
Newborn life replacing all of us, changing this fable we live in
No longer needed here so where do we go?
Will you take a journey tonight, follow me past the walls of death?
But girl, what if there is no eternal life?
I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
(a melody, a memory, or just one PICTURE)
Seize the day or die regretting the time You lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
Trials in life, questions of us existing here
Don't wanna die alone without you here
Please tell me what we have is real
(guitar solo)
So what if I never hold you, yeah, or kiss your lips again? Whooooah
So I never want to leave you and the memories OF us to see
I beg don't leave me
Seize the day or die regretting the time You lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
Trials in life, questions of us existing here
Don't wanna die alone without you here
Please tell me what we have is real
(Silence, you lost me-- no chance for one more day)
(Silence, you lost me-- no chance for one more day)
I stand here alone
Falling away from you, no chance to get back home
(Silence, you lost me-- no chance for one more day)
(Silence, you lost me-- no chance for one more day)
cosmictraveler 11-09-07, 01:00 PM Unicorn Theme By Tangerine Dream (Sung By Suzanne Pawlitzki)
I dreamed a dream! what can it mean?
I dreamed that I was a maiden Queen:
Guarded by an Angel Mild;
Witless woe was never beguiled!
And I wept both night and day
And he wiped my tears away
I was so sad in a while he wiped my tears away
came to me night and day
I kept on crying
And hid from him my hearts delight
So he took his wings and fled:
Then the morn blush'd rosy red:
I dried my tears I armed my fears,
With ten thousand shields and spears.
And soon my Angel came again:
I was armed, he came in vain:
For the time of youth was fled
And grey hairs were on my head.
Soon my Angel came again:
I was armed, he came in vain:
For the time of youth was fled
And I found grey hair was on my head.
